The photo club that I used to be a member of did a joint show with a local painters group. We provided photographs, and tbe painters decided which ones they wanted to work from, and then interpreted them. Three of the painters liked this, and interpreted it. Then the photos and paintings were displayed together, in a show titled "Interpretations".
The show was great. They are doing it again next year.

That is a great image, it has a very warm feel to it, i see some stock still turns up on ebay, i might get some if i find any.
This is the type of E6 i would like to see back on the market along with something similar to E100g and E100vs.

It is almost 7 weeks since anyone posted in this thread - did the change of topic to E100GX (yes, a lovely film, I too still have some stashed) stop the discussion? Or are we just waiting for announcements from the Ferrania team in the New Year? Their timetable showed a test coating in November and December, but their recent postings have been about t-shirts and tote bags. Does anyone know how the test coating went? Thanks!

They did say they were taking the Christmas holiday season off. And I don't think Test coatings are "pass and fail" they are more like next time use 10% more of THAT and cut THEOTHERTHING by 3% OR of these 10 samples, Number 7 is closest to what we want.

No need to panic. I think we'll be fine.

I'm not convinced that working 16-hour days 7-days a week 52-weeks a year necessarily produces more and better results. I know it looks that way on a calculator. But in the real world there are other factors that come into play.

Everybody needs some downtime.

Because of the enormous upside potential for the future of E-6 film if Ferrania succeeds, and the trivial downside potential if their efforts are delayed by a week or two while they spend time with their families over the holiday season, I think it's a no-brainer event.

Fujifilm will not be with us for the long-haul. Possibly not even the short-haul. And Kodak is already E-6 extinct. Given these obvious realities, impatience might be our biggest enemy.

We'll be fine...

remember also that these guys have set themselves up for the most difficult job in film (re)design. If a B&W film is off a 1/3 of a stop, Photographers might just adjust their development time. (some folks consider Fomapan 400 to be off much more than that)

If you have a slightly imperfect colour negative, as long as their is not a lot of curve crossover, folks can adjust their printing filter pack and won't know why.

BUT if A transparency film, which has the tightest accuracy requirements for exposure perfection, has the colours off a tiny bit, or the speed not 100% bang on to the specs, the slides will have a colour cast, and their is no next step where you can fudge it out.

You guys don't have much experience with Kickstarter campaigns eh? A few weeks late? Most are 6-18 months or more from original estimates. Just look at the Travelwide...

I hope for the best but frankly think we'll be very lucky if their films are available in any kind of normal way in 2015...

If the film has no significant crossover, it can be sold with a notation on a correction color filter pack. Kodak did this in the early days of some color products in order to get the most perfect color. They gave corrections down to 0.05 or less. This is pretty exacting, but larger corrections can be made.

The coater is different then they need to commission new chemicals this is impossible all over again.

Guys the engineering involved in getting the move completed is significant. I was surprised at the initial timeline and always felt it was very optimistic. Give them a chance! This is not the same as loading a roll of film!

Actually, the Travelwide is the only kickstarter I've done that has been late by more than a couple weeks. It, of course, blows the curve. The Ferrania effort I'm not worried about because A: they do have experience in doing what they are planning to do once the machines are moved, and B: I'm doing it to support the effort and I'm not particularly invested in the reward. I'm not much of a slide film shooter, but having options is always a good thing, and it would be nice to have the transparency option. Fingers crossed for them that this does well enough that they offer their emulsions in sheet film sizes down the road.
