Just waiting for announcements, which I'm sure will come as soon as there is anything of interest. I'm not aware that the project is "behind" in any way.....if there has been a test coating in December, we can hardly expect instant reports by 2nd January ! I'm as keen as anyone to get my rewards from Ferrania, and to buy their film as soon as available, but I'm not wasting time worrying about it, they won't arrive any sooner. :whistling:

If the film has no significant crossover, it can be sold with a notation on a correction color filter pack. Kodak did this in the early days of some color products in order to get the most perfect color.

Or it could be sold as "private label" with a different DX code and hope the photo-finishers pick up on and correct the the colour-cast.

A fellow APUG member had already mentioned this auction to Bob Crowley at New55Film, who then had it posted on his blog/FB on Dec 24th. My layman's sense was that these facilities are/were enormous. Seemingly way too large for the fledgling New55 group.

Don't know if Ferrania knows about it, but I'd be utterly shocked if they didn't.

What about TIP acquiring the fuji polaroid machine for making a TIP version of 4x5 or 3.25x4.25 film?

Kodak coated nearly all analog film products at the plants I noted in addition to the products probably made at the plants Matt lists.

Was the Former Forte Plant not a pre-war Kodak operation also? And did they ever coat film at Colorado, or just finish it? (movie stock was finished there at least at one time)

No, China, Australia, US (2), Canada, England and France. Is that enough?

Didnt know about China!

What about Switzerland?
I think they had a plant there didnt they?

I take it they are just down to one plant now in the US AFAIK.

I listed film plants, and yes Kodak coated film at the Colorado plant. I also failed to mention Brazil. There was no plant in Switzerland AFAIK. And yes, they are now down to one plant operating at lowered capacity to match market demand.

They had no coating facilities in Switzerland, but a lab, their last Kodachrome lab of all.

OK thats what i will be thinking of.
I see that in Mattking's link there is a plant in Japan, but i expect this was never part of their film division.

Kodak sold a lot of film into the Japanese market.
