Olympus Stylus Epic with 400 color neg and an Olympus XA with FP4 or HP5. Both produce very sharp negatives. Sometimes I have about everything and "forget" to take them out of the car for a few days - just "in case".

Yep, always. A Super Regent or a Netter 515 are always there, even if I'm packing a full kit. Usually have a Canon Autoboy along for color film too.

Used to keep a Lubitel in the glove compartment when I lived in Holland. Stopped doing that when I developed the film and saw all those wonderful color shifts (it was quite a warm summer).

Now living in Greece, I would never consider leaving a camera in the car, unless I'm after some "psychedelic effects". Way too hot in the summer and quite hot the rest of the year (too much sunshine )

Since I got a job within walking distance, I'm spending a lot more time walking with my day pack slung over my shoulder than driving. Nowadays, I keep my Zorki-2s w/Jupiter 8 lens tucked into the pack. Right now, it's loaded up with some HP5 I have left over from a wedding gig, but once my bulk order of Tri-X comes in, I'll be carrying it loaded with Tri-X.

I did buy a Brownie Hawkeye a few months back for the express purpose of having a shooter in the car all the time, but I only had two 620 spools, and my desire to shoot quickly outstripped my time to process, so the Hawkeye doesn't get as much use as I'd anticipated.

I actually carry a camera bag to work everyday with a couple of Leicas and assorted stuff inside. I seldom shoot any pictures but I can if the need arises. Other times, I might drop an Olympus XA in my pocket. I don't leave a camera in the car due to the heat and humidity.

I typically carry a Canon AE-1 in the car, loaded with a roll of Delta 400.... If extreme weather hits, extreme high or low temps, I bring it in... Even though I am sure it would hurt the camera, or film....

I carry my Agfa Speedex Special R all the time now. Great camera. Makes me think before I can shoot. Now if it could only make me think before I speak...

My F5 sits in it's lonely drawer quietly soaking up the dessicant.

folder in the lunch box

I often keep a T4 or old 6x6 or 6x9 folder in the car, in an insulated lunchbox, one of those innocuous little cooler things. They maintain a more reasonable environment for the camera and film and they look like they would contain two ham sandwiches and a coke - not much to tempt a thief. I have, in fact, taken to carrying most of my gear in coolers - convenient, insulated and cheap.

I just took a couple out of my car. They wind up there all the time but mostly rangefinders and/or toy cameras.

Today, SANS camera, I drove by a car that was engulfed in flames.

Goes to show, best pictures are the ones that you take without a camera.

I have an Olympus OM-1 w/ 50 mm lens and an Olympus Trip 35 which in turn is travelling with me in my bag.
Normally loaded with some color print film or Tri-X.

I nearly always have a camera with me or within easy reach, unless I forget it as I have a lousy memory at times and even forgot my fedora today It use to be my Centon with a Pentax 50mm, but now its my Canonet QL-17 loaded with Tri-X or HP5+.

I always wear my Olympus OM10, with the strap over one shoulder, under my coat/jacket and a 2x converter in a pocket if walking, and I keep my Voigtlander Vito CLR in the glovebox of the car.

Ummm, well, it kind of varies I guess.

I always have a camera with me, but I never leave it in the car as warm days in Oz can burst batteries and ruin film quite easily. In fact, on a summers day I have measured the interior of my car at over 65 degrees celcius. My work carpark is in the sun unfortunately.

The part that varies is the camera on any given day. It can be one of many, but favourites are the Canon QL17 GIII, the Olympus Trip 35, the Minolta Himatic 7, the Olympus XA, the Canonette Junior, the Ziess Ercona 6x9 folder, the Agfa Solinette folder.... you get the picture... All with HP5 or FP4 typically.

Camera in the car

I keep a Tec IV with a couple of lenses and a load of Tri-X in the car. It might seem strange, but we don't have a lot of theft where I live. It's also the smallest camera I have, so fairly fast for me.

Been awhile since a post to this thread. Don't know if it's dead but just had to chime in. I carry a Netter everywhere I go. Here's a snap shot at the local coffee shop I have my coffee at every morning. Was just able to put my coffee down long enough to pull it out of my shirt pocket and snap it. The owner thought I was nuts. But what the heck. nuts.(there was a url link here which no longer exists)

My Zenit has more miles on it than most cars - and it held up remarkably to my driving, which is saying something!

Funny, thing... no one ever wanted to steal it - imagine that

Great idea the Zenit thing. If you ever need to chalk the wheels to keep the car from rolling it'd do the trick. Hmmmmmm...think I've just found another use for my Kiev 60 and it's also heavy enough to give me traction in the snow.

Jokes aside - I love my Zenit. And if nothing else, the only thing that ever suffered in it was the film - the camera went through all four seasons in the back seat of a car, its been sat on, dropped, had things placed on top of it - you name it. Mind you, those Soviet hard leather cases, disliked by many, are first class protection for a camera! (And mine didn't smell like pee... when it was new - ok - I stop there)

I guess I'm stretching the thread - maybe we need one on Russian cameras - but I've handed out several Zenits to kids in my camera club and they've taken some GREAT shots. They are inexpensive, lenses are inexpensive, they're a great camera to teach the basics on and they stand up to the kids. I hadn't really thought about one bumping around in the car but it would be a good camera for that use (all joking aside). It's just too darned easy to joke about Russian cameras - and their smell.

It's been quite a while since I posted to this thread. I recently got myself a really wonderful Dead Link Removed at a local Camera Show. Since that's now my preferred 35mm, my glove box camera is now a Zorki-2S with Jupiter 8 lens that I got from Fedka.com. Here it is in its new happy home:
