Thanks @moggi1964 .

@Klaus_H what is the main advantage of the stainless steel one over the plastic one in your experience? I am leaning towards the stainless steel because I expect that would last longer.

Hi,

as I own both versions of the professional release with ball brake, black and transparent stainless steel, too.
I have to say that the transparent one isn't as flexible as the black one.
So for general use I recommand the black or colored cables.

I had ordered the stainless steel version. I was disappointed, because it is not flexible enough. I returned it and replaced with the plastic version which is much better.

The stainless steel version is moisture-resistant and rust-proof. That’s why I always keep one of these cable releases in my car as a backup for the standard model I use most often, in case I damage or lose my regular cable release.
