I must not be understanding the problem. Seems to me that it's a simple "procedural method" thing. Since you're cutting an 8x10 into four 4x5 pieces, as you cut each 4x5 just put it in an empty 4x5 box (it'll only fit one way); there's no need to turn any sheet over to put the emulsion side down. At this point, one of the four sheets in the box has the original mfr notche(s) and three will be un-notched and ready for a corner clip with scissors. Doesn't matter how many 8x10 sheets you cut before clipping. Take care to keep the clipped off corners from getting anywhere near the box.
