I finally got around to putting up a rack to hold my drying screens over my wet bench. Pictures towards the bottom of this page: http://www.gapatterson.com/grahamp/darkroom/darkroom.html . This is a lot better than perching them on the furniture around the house!

The best part about using screens over the sink is that I can continue to work without being dripped on It is mostly fibre based material, so air drying takes time. Film gets hung, the room fan and heat turned off, and left overnight. I tend to have short bouts of frenetic activity in the darkroom.

1st home, 1st darkroom. Just finished the sink. well, till I get the drain hooked up. I still have a lot of work to do, water hookup,blocking the light out, some good ventilation, then I'll be set to print!

Something of an idea came to mind.
What if we took a good photograph of our darkroom then collected them all and made a book out of it?
Maybe in print, but could be just online.
There isn't a better statement that film photography is still around than an exhibition of dedicated work places around the world.

100mm kitchen extractor vented to ceiling cavity, DIY print washer in sink, and just enough room for two slim people to work in.

That would be good idea and a interesting one for a book..With each darkroom let the photographer write a small paragraph about it.

Here it is, finally.
Enlargers, wet site, dry site, raw chemicals, retouching and finishing space, and at last the Colenta in his separate room. As you can see, I like to take care of the film-processing reels, It’s important for a clean job, I think. For the Colenta, a well controlled water supply and (IR-) light is important too (an of course the reels…).

I second the motion. An online gallery would be fine to start with.

Sean has set up a darkroom portraits gallery in the gallery section, which I think will be a great way to see darkrooms more easily than in this long thread. (It's a very useful thread, to be sure, but I like the idea of the online gallery.)

Start uploading some pix there!! I've added a few from the darkroom I am currently constructing!!

I have been meaning to upload pics for a while, so, having just spent the best part of the weekend in there (printing for my LRPS panel), I thought I'd take a pic or two before I clear it all up again (it's our spare room ordinarily!)

The condo we live in has no spare rooms that can be converted into a darkroom, but I did manage to fine space. The Washer and Dryer are located in a short entryway between the garage and the kitchen. Four trays just fit on top of them. On the opposite side of this entry is the utility/shoe closet holding the water heater and furnace. There is just enough room to place the enlarger in there. The wash trays are located in the kitchen.

I had some reflection problem from the wall, so a dark towl secured to the coat hooks was in order. There is no room for the 4x5 enlarger at this time.

It certainly must be convenient when you need to wash your darkroom towels .
