I prefer jazz in the darkroom. Mainly MJQ, Desmond, Miles and 'Trane, Bill Evans, Ella, Dinah Washington, etc., etc.

Gene

For some reason, lately I can't seem to hear Dinah's recording of "If I Fall In Love" too many times. Normally I'm a Carmen McRae man.

Prints dry flatter if dried to jazz. I have no proof of this but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I use Ipod, Enya and Louis Amstrong the most played

Right now while printing it's Bach's cello suites (BWV 1007-1012), Miles + Gil Evans, Mingus, Keith Jarret's solo concerts, that kind of things.

Next month it might be something completely different.

Standard in our darkroom is Ryan Adams.

I love listening to RA in the darkroom as well-Heartbreaker and Stranger's Almanmac are my personal favourites.Madeleine Peyroux is great for those late night selenium toning sessions.

I can see where those fumes, combined with a voice like absinthe could take a person to an interesting place.

Am I the only person that thinks she sounds like Billie Holiday?

Art Blakey, Interpool, Frank Black,.......Sometimes opera or talk radio, Velvet Underground, Arvo Part, and Show tunes !!

...new favorite, K. T. Tunstall...
