Tim / Fred,

I received a number for Ralph from another APUG member. The area code is 503 and the last four digits are 8068. Is this the number you gents have for Ralph?

Regards,

Shawn

I can't confirm the number as I no longer have it. 503 is a Portland area code, and he has a cell phone from Portland. Perhaps Matt knows? Matt brought the camera down from Canada and met Ralph at the coffee shop.

Hi all..

I am just back from a 7 week vacation.. Before I left I had made contact with Simplicius via Facebook regarding the "Irish Camera" which is indeed in Ireland since late May. We were to arrange to meet up for the pass over, however this unfortunately didn't happen before I headed off on my travels and he on his.. I think now the best thing would be to have him mail it to me ASAP and the film processed and up in the Gallery for everyone involved in Camera 8. I'll send him a message tonight and try arrange it straight away.

I fear the spirit of this project has been somewhat lost in recent months with the cameras themselves.. It was always meant to be a fun project with the time spent with each Apug member adding further interest, and gentle nudging to move it along. I do believe every one of our project participants still feel the same way, but it's understandable that tempers are fraying somewhat. One thing I do know, is that this is through no fault of anyone of us, and we've all done our utmost to sort it out.. beyond what everyone has done, there's nothing else we can do.

I don't know or understand what has happened to Ralph, I hope and pray that it is nothing serious.. and if he or a friend of his is out there reading this and can pass on the message that anything I can do to help, I will do so.. just please ask.

As for the rest of us... I'm not sure what to suggest for our next venture.. the last two have unfortunately been an unmitigated disaster.. but I'm fairly sure we'll come up with something to have us all on the edges of our seats again... In the meantime.. I highly recommend a 7 week vacation for all

You damn well better invite me on your next one. The last sevens weeks have been hell (excepting the week I took on the coast in the redwoods in june).

Some of you have received a PM from me. 8.1 has been found. It has been returned to Ralph, marked as undeliverable. Got the news from him today. It's currently waiting at the Bothell, WA post office. He'll be picking it up in the morning.

Re: his phone number, yes, it is the 503-xxx-8068 number. His cell number is a portland number. I will PM it to Fred, so he can contact him as necessary.

No and no. Not 503, not 8068.

Tim, I owe you a massive apology, as well as to the gent living in Steilacoom who disavowed all knowledge of APUG...
John just told me RJ lives in Canyon Park (north of Seattle), not Steilacoom (south of Seattle), a distance of some 70 miles.

Anybody know where the latest Nikon v. Canon flame war can be found? I need to serve some penance.

Rick;

Nice to hear from you, sir. Yes, I had been added to the group for the camera, but a problem seemed to have developed after it was sent on to Shaun. And, yes, I have an announcement to make about the Traveling Camera 8.1. You will be included in the distribution.

cut paste from a PM dated 7/14 that I just opened today, I've away for a few days.

Not a problem. The gentleman in Stellacoom was quite civil about it, even had a good laugh when I described all the trials and tribulations of running such an insane group. As I have found out recently, older people don't talk much but if you get them started...

Get with the times flatulent.. it's Walker vs. Shen Hao vs. Ebony vs. Canham. It's Nikor vs. Schneider vs. Fujinon...

My wife would suggest that you send an apology card to the "gent living in Steilacoom".

I wouldn't suggest, however, that you sign it "flatulent1" :whistling:.

He may not understand.

... and there was much rejoicing!

I think this may require the opening of something with a cork.... I'll be happy to offer my services..

I've not heard from Simplicius as yet regarding Camera 8.2... I'll be sending him another message if there's no sign of the camera in the next couple of days. Anthony if you're out there... give us a sign of life!

Next holiday I go on I'll book a 20 roomed house.. and you're all welcome
