Not sure. There was some magenta in the porch photo too, I pulled down the saturation on that one. I still have some learning to do with the negative converter, I think.

Finished a batch of DF96. 16 rolls from the powder. Taking a break from DF96 for some other shenanigans.

Cool lens.

With DF96, how do you agitate? I've done both continuous and intermittent, think I prefer continuous..

Using 70 degree temp. Continuous circle 8 inversion motion for first 10 seconds, then circle 8 motion 5 secs top of every following minute AND one circle 8 at every 30 seconds.

When I didn't add the turn at the 30 second point I would get bromide drag.

One thing I've stopped doing is filtering out the sediment that gradually accumulates at the bottom of the bottle. I've found it makes no difference to the performance of the DF96, and does not get attached to the film.

You guys have probably already seen this series of videos on DF96, but I'll post the link anyway in case not and for others.

Our weather has been the coldest of the season for several days, it's supposed to last into next weekend. No desire to go outside and shoot. My wife and I are going to a Bavarian style village in MI called Frankenmuth for valentines weekend. I may take my freshly cleaned up and ready-to-shoot Argus Argoflex E along and shoot some photos if I have time (nudge nudge win wink say no more).

I like the look of the pictures developed in Df96, especially the faster speed films. On FP4+, Kentmere 100, and Ultra fine extreme 100, I'm getting very grainy skies on otherwise nicely detailed shots. Anyone know why this might be and anything I should be doing? I develop in the 68-75F range.

Some films are grainier than others. Also read up on scanning. Sharpening increases grain in high density areas like sky etc.
There are a lot of reasons for increased grain like temp, agitation etc. Can't really say much based on the little info you provided.

You will get a lot more traction on this subject if you start a new thread describing your issues in detail.

Try to develop in the 68-70 range (I shoot for 70) as I have found increasing temps results in more grain.
Super important to make sure your wash is as close to the dev temps as possible! I've reticulated a few rolls getting lazy!

Bottom line though is not all films react as you'd like in any developer, let alone DF96.

The Efke 25 expired 21 years ago. I shot it at 25, had no idea how it was stored, and looking at the results should have should it at 12 or 6. C'est la vie!

In this case, the exposure works tho, really nice set and cool use of the Pen's funky format.

Thanks, but it really only works because my digicam scan was able to capture what info was there. Ideally it would have had a stop or two more light (which is what I had intended) and would have been a much cleaner image.

My fault for forgetting I had that 'throw away' roll of film in there. Shame cuz it was a long drive! I'll definitely be going back. This time with fresh film!

Nikon N75, 28-80 4/5.6G, Tri-X, DF96 Monobath

This is the first time I tried the constant agitation method of developing with DF96. Temp was 80.
The reason for this was that I was developing two rolls of film and that required 650ml of solution.

Unfortunately there was only 600ml left as I was on my 22nd roll from the bottle! (A mix of 24 and 36 exp rolls).
So I went with the constant agitation to make sure that there would be sufficient developer coverage.

Interestingly using this method with TriX resulted in finer grain and a slight increase in sharpness compared to my usual 70 and intermittent agitation method!

Great results, continuous agitation ended up being my fav method for DF96 too, Rotary in a Lab-Box.

I havent used any other tanks since I got the L-B in the fall. DF96-D76-RO9.

Beautiful. I will try it. The grain on your sky is excellent and the range of tones on the sky and the arching edge of the roof (?) is wonderful.
