Works the same. Took forever for me for the crystals to fully dissolve at room temp.

I recall the directions recommending using water at 125F -- no wonder it took a long time at room temp.

Huh, I followed the instructions and never saw that. Not saying it wasn't there, I must have missed it! I just see the add water instructions, no mention of temps.

I could have conflated it, too, from knowing D-76 and Dektol want warmer water to mix (lots of sulfite to dissolve for each of those) -- I dissolved my Xtol at 100+F as well, even though it specifically says room temp, because I didn't read closely. I've got a fresh bag of Df96 at home, I'll try to remember to take a look after work.

I don't see any temp recommendation on my pack.

Okay. Now I don't have to dig on the shelf under the darkroom counter.

That said, the contents of the bags will dissolve faster and easier if you heat the water to at least body temperature...

Sodium thiosulfate, which most probably is an ingredient of this monobath, dissolves endothermically. Other ingredients may dissolve exothermically, but I suspect overall the dissolution of the packet contents is endothermic. Using room temperature water may be a little too low and take considerably longer.

It's not a big deal, bottom line at room temp it takes a long time to properly dissolve. If I use the dried crystals again I'll heat up the distilled water a little before proceeding.

I am frankly surprised as to how nice the Shanghai film is.

Do give the feedback on scratches to the factory and let's hope they'll take action. GP3 100, the other Shanghai film, is also a nice film. Fortunately, no QC issues so far in sheet format.

Howard (who kindly sent it to me) let them know. Not sure what they did with that info.

@Huss @howardpan i know the manufacturer says it's from ORWO but is a new emulsion. I'm pretty sure we're looking at either N74plus or N75 based on the tonality. It looks just like N75. I thought I posted this before but the post is not here so I must have screwed it up. Anyway here's an N75 example to compare (35mm so grainier)

D96 is the developer that Ferrania recommends for P30. Was wondering if anyone had tried P30 in the Df96?
