Hmm, having seen those negatives in person I would definitely not say those are flat. The photo doesn't really do them justice. Perhaps the light source is not bright enough to cope with the density?

@YoIaMoNwater, @Raghu Kuvempunagar I did not note exactly where I took the readings as I moved the densitometer around the frame to find the range of values. But the Dmin would certainly have been the center of the lamp on the thinnest frame. I would then have taken the darkest reading on the same frame for Dmax. I did not see the other strip of film, only the one with the lamp.

Note that it looks like it was probably measured on the +3 frame.

I have to say that the TMax100 I sent to @relistan was the first attempt with 8 min bleach that resulted in emulsion damage. The numbers he got was from that roll. The most recent trial with 5 min bleach looked darker which probably made it look more mute. I don’t have more TMax100 and am on a budget so it’s unlikely I will continue to test this particular film.

@Donald Qualls There's also the possibility to acquire nitric acid from agricultural supplies stores. Not available from any of these stores, but some may stock it, among other fertigation supplies.

I happened to Google for nitric acid today, and found it's apparently fairly inexpensive and widely available, just not from Amazon sellers (which is the first place I look these days), and not (AFAIK) from Home Depot or Lowe's. I might order in a small bottle of one of the lower strength solutions, just to try it on a fogged, developed leader as a start.

Film Washi F @100 with 8 min bleach: Dmax is visibly very low and bleach time needs to be reduced. Because this film lacks the anti-halation layer, the reversal process effectively makes this film to be highly light sensitive.

Delta100 @100 with 5.5 min bleach: I messed up exposures for the lamp so the -3 is -2. Will update the image tomorrow.

TMax100 @100 with 5 min bleach (constant agitation): Seems like my theory of constant agitation during the bleach step worked. To be honest, I am still not a big fan of this particular film for reversal.

TriX @400 with 10 min bleach (constant agitation): Much better than last trial with obvious higher Dmax; however, bleach time was still not enough.
