I've got the prints boxed and going in the mail tomorrow morning on my way in to work! Had a last minute trip to see the eclipse that threw me off schedule.

I observed the eclipse too, from Madras, OR. My trip was slightly longer, I guess

I hope you had a clear sky and were able to enjoy it, Uwe! It was the first I've seen and it really was more incredible than I could've ever expected. Luckily a friend's family let us stay in Louisville, KY Sunday night, allowing us to drive near Hopkinsville early Monday morning.

Also I received a couple very beautiful prints about two weeks ago now, and will post them here when I get a chance to photograph them.

My package is finally enroute. Hopefully it will get there

And I received yesterday (= Saturday 08 Sept 17) TWO prints from 06 Canuck (Elvis) in Canada, along with some nice postal stamps for the charity shop.

Both prints are pictures of flowers = some daisy type flowers (?), which have been back lit and some lilies. One taken on a 'Blad' and extension tube and the other taken on a 10 x 8 'beast', as the letter puts it, using x-ray film.

I like them both, as they are totally different, but I lean towards the daisies a little more.

I'd be interested to hear more about your workflow Elvis, either on here or by PM, for the x-ray film, as I too have bought a packet to use in my 10 x 8 pinhole and I know what you mean about the price difference between this and HP5!!!

Main questions are - what ISO did you use and a development details ball park, to get me started.

Many thanks for the pictures, they'll make a great addition to my collection.

And don't worry about the lateness of the prints, as mine are just being sent out tomorrow, after I thought that my effort had already been sent - a bit of an early senior moment, I think...

Uwe and other participants BPX26 here's to update image received from Mike (canvassy) finely & safely wrapped this morning in the post.
Subject "Lilies" B&W print superbly printed and processed by Mike with all relevant details furnished too. Thanks Mike! Love the result.
If he agrees I will scan and post for others to enjoy too.

I dont have a scanner and forgot to grab a digital snapshot of the print (silly me).

Canuck? If you want to, could you post a scan/picture of my print.

Hello all,

just a quick update : I did not print -yet- but should be able to have some time in the dark at the end of the week...

Locutus, hope this makes it.

Terry S (tezzasmall),

X-ray film I find is all over the place in terms of ISO, but I have settled on ISO=100. I developed the lily I sent you in Rodinal 1:100 for 10 minutes on a roller base. This should be a good starting point. The X-ray film I have is dual sided and really soft emulsion. Scratches really easily. Still playing with different developers to get the contrast under control. All in all, the film is fun to play with. Have fun. Cheers!

Elvis

Glad I could help Terry. I am going to experiment some more also with D23 developer. Let me know how your experiments work out. Cheers!

I had the nice surprise of Tezzasmall's print in the box some minutes ago!

It is a cityscape from the "Isle of dogs", with a large place made to the foreground and sky, leaving the skyline in a long rectangle in the middle.

The tonal range is great, with a lot of dark tones, driving my eyes to the main subject.

Well done!

My prints are now printed, dried, and waiting for me to write some accompanying letter and sending them. Hope work will let me go the post office next monday!
