More importantly, does it use the same gears to raise/lower the head?Is the column "just like" a 23C column or are all the dimensions different?
Yes, I'd like a copy. My wife's 22 inch high porch table allows full extension, 161mm lens and 4x5 negatives. But she growls whenever I mention it.If you want an adjustable enlarging table, I have plans for one from the Peterson's Photographic " Photo Equipment You Can Build" book. I'd be happy to email to you. Otherwise, get some ceiling tiles and make a box that fits the space above it and paint the box black.

The 45H is bigger all over than the 23C. The geared crank works great. The 45 would not work on a 23 column, too short.
Both racks are 12 inches wide with 2 inch rails and teeth are 8 in 2 inches, so, yes they are similar. No, I was wondering if the 45H and the 23C have parts in common, like the elevator gears and the gear on the crank.
I may do that, too, as the only manual copy I could find was from Canada.IF you need parts for it, call up Beseler - I've dealt with them on the phone to get a few parts for my 45V-XL and they were extremely helpful.
That would limit me to only using the 5 1/2 135mm lens for 4x5 and smaller 70mm. I put the enlarger on plywood to see what the requirements were with the 161 6 1/2 inch lens, 4x5 glass plates, Negaflat film holder etc.Are you Attaching/Affixing the enlarger to the counter top at all.?
Thank You
