And they are still in the process of creating the sensitizers and other chemistry necessary in the background too, so when ready to make colour film, they will be able to, and coating plenty of P30 will iron out all the teething problems with the refurbished coater.

So they even have a mini-coater besides the precision-coater (which allready is a small coater), this should help to reduce waste during R&D and they can run the precision-coater for P30 while working towards other emulsions on the mini-coater. It couldn´t be better than that i guess - they really saved the right equipment.

It will certainly take some additional time to develop color film, but it won't take nearly as long as the entire "getting the factory working properly" part has taken.

Making ANY film has been a long a difficult road. Making NEW films will not be as rough.

That is the general plan - test on the ring coater, then scale it to the precision coater.
Once the general making process is nailed down, we'll hire and train a couple of people to run the mechanical stuff, then switch our main scientists to R&D.

All wishes from Trendland that you will fulfill your ambitioned plans in the future! As I stated in the past I wish you good luck in addition I wish you'll be superior with EVERYTHINK you have in your ambitioned pipeline! It is not from interest how long it will last - it is from interest that it will hapen!
And I have NO doubts that it is possible - beside ALL the problems what happened you!
It is a bit more than bad luck you were forced to notice during the last years!
With some you made I also had problems (but who should care about - nobody is perfect)!
At least it isn't possible do be perfect at all!

I am a buyer of your planned E-6 processable reversal colour stock in the following formats:
  • 65 mm, perforated according to ISO 3023, 1000-ft. or 500-ft. rolls;
  • 35 mm, perforated ISO 491-DH, 1000-ft. rolls;
  • 16 mm, perforated ISO 69-762-1r as well as 762-2r, 1200-ft. rolls;
  • 16 mm, perforated ISO 486, 400-ft. rolls.
New Kodak Ektachrome is not available in these conversions.

so are there any other stocks in he production plan? between P30 and FerraniaChrome2019? (if their are I know you don't want to speciy details.)

so far Ektachrome is only in Super 8 and still 35mm film. one of the Kick-starter offering was at least 16mm. (single perf)

My fingers are crossed that someone in that Italian warehouse is a Regular 8 Perforating machine also. As a smaller company, FF should be able to consider making more choices available even if only on an annual order basis.

(1000 ft of 65 mm might take a major amount out of the planned "Mini-Jumbo" rolls)

This is still correct Europan !
But pls. don't forget (you of course are knowing well) : All these formats you mentioned are very
special! What about 65mm (movie camera film) = cinema is with negative film, and the demand of
Motion Picture Stock is realy low today - with 65mm film it is extreme low!
But that what you have a need of is "just" a question of conversions !
Theoratically that ALL IS POSSIBLE - well if this word "JUST" not were = "just" a question of conversions!
I guess if you would like to buy 500ft AND 1000ft rolls you have the need to yourself - right?
So we are speaking not about a real mass of that rolls you have the need of?
Or are you have ambitions to sell this stuff? Are you planing to make a start up ? Beside the need for your own? This is a real question because I can imagine that there are a lot of people out there

Well from my point 120 films in big rolls should be possible (just if the demand to 120 Ektachrome is generally high [that seams to be so at this point] but they we would speak about 30m rolls!
You perhaps would be the only person in full Europe who demand 120 films in 500ft/1000ft Europan? And at last you are missing the cut to 65mm AND perforation ISO 3023...!
At the end there could be a chance that you indeed get 120films in 500ft /1000ft = special order
cut direct from 120 masterrols. It isn't impossible (cut before conversation machines making 120lenght with backing paper) but conversation to 65mm ISO 3023 with Ektachrome would not be make if Quentin Tarantino would decide to shot next film from positive 65mm!
And he of course would have the need of a little mass 300ft /1000ft ....hmmm?

OK may be Quentin Tarantino would get his rolls (what ever it cost) because that would be a great
thing (shooting positive 65 mm cinema)?

But at the state of this day there is obviously no chance about! I guess it can be the same
to Film Ferrania!

This was avaible to the most E6 Kodak till 2002 (30meter rolls) for example all E films of latest series, KodakEPR, KodakEPP (not for EPY a.s.o.) but the demand at this time was such low that
price was much more in comparison to 5pro packs (4 x 5 films in 135-36) the special order
to 1000ft was NO Problem at this time!

That all changed dramatically within just 3quarters!!!

Also regards the last update, can you specify what the saved equipment that you installed is?

Also interesting to notice that this video states that this is just one of the ring coating rooms in the LRF, so there is obviously alot more available as your team expands.
Im quite excited to see what some of the other rooms are used for in the LRF, I dont think many appreciate how significant this facility is with the amount of equipment
available for coating film, its really a great asset to have saved.

Yes, Dubray-Howell. It fits photo cameras as well as movie cameras (same hole dimensions as type N or Bell & Howell perforation). Better strength of the rounded hole corners. I am aware of the change Eastman-Kodak had made to the BH hole corners.

A reversal film in 65 mm allows to leave out one dupe generation. Internegative off camera original, prints.
Same with the other formats. In 35 mm duplicating possibilities are most varied, optical precision machinery, step contact printers. A number of enthusiasts might use colour reversal film on an Eyemo, Sept, Konvas, Kinamo, Bol, Le Blay, DeVry, Akers, Nizo, Serra, Ernemann, Ertel, whatnot.

The thing is that (Eastman) Kodak had introduced the 16 mm film format, Double-Eight film, and Super-8 but do no longer care for 16 and 2 × 8. They should know that the ancient equipments have withstood the test of time better than most of the Super-8 plastic conglomerate, that the older cameras and projectors were built after the open concept contrary to the cybernetic throw-away one from the sixties on. Kodak should know (they actually do) that the announced Super-8 camera will flop without at least one new projector available.

Therefore my input to FF. Thousands of cameras and projectors wait for film. Unperforated Ferraniachrome in 35 would be converted to 9.5 mm by the Ciné Club 9.5 of France who have a relict machine from Kodak Chalon. Film Ferrania, imagine your stocks running through projectors!

Back to a Nizo Heliomatic 8 a woman has sent together with a Leitz FOKOS. She wants to film. She pays hundreds of Dollars for an overhaul. I give three years warranty on my work. Imagine!

Love the last few seconds, there. He's down to an error of 1/100 of a mm on the surface flatness, and just getting ready to start the real precision work on the part.

I think they'll offer P30 in bulk sooner or later once they have everything up & running
