Any updates?

They've said there will be no updates until they've achieved full in-house production of P30 in 135 and 120 formats.

On the official P30 facebook page someone asked them last week and was told the same thing, they're still working on in-house production.

There is a plague. Most of the small staff there are old, and will have been forbidden by law to even enter the building for months.

So assuming the plague is Covid then does the last sentence still apply and if it doesn't any longer do you know how long ago it ceased to apply?

I thought that the total lockdown rules ended many months ago in Italy as they did in the U.K. So to summarise, how many months did the prohibition to which you refer above last in Italy and when did it end?

Thanks

They literally had to rebuild just about everything from scratch.
If the apocalypse didn’t happen, maybe we’d have p30 in 120 and movie rolls
Asbestos. That alone would be a 2 year project. It would be nice if there was adequate resources to train young folks. Adox has resources, still they need young engineers for development and production. Kodak is hiring. Wouldn’t that be cool.
If we can get back to a somewhat normal routine I think we will see some nice film from Ferrania.
That's a big if.

well meanwhile ive been shooting some expired solaris.
Im getting interesting results, whats weird is some photos look rather washed out on my roll, but others are turning out with great colour that is typical of a C41 film.

Any ideas? Perhaps its over exposure rather than being old? Ive kept it frozen.

Generally over-exposure of negative film makes colours pop a little more. Is the difference in look getting better/worse as you move from the outside to the inside of the roll (or backwards)? That could be something related to refrigeration affecting the roll unevenly, or maybe the emulsion failing as it thaws?

I hope their 120 P30 happens. The last update I remember was summer of 2020, I think... Anyone out there hear anything?
of course, we have to deduct all the times in the last 3 years that Italy has been under lockdown, or medical restrictions.

Yeah, before Covid hit it seemed like they were finally starting to gain some traction after getting a majority of the buildings issues fixed. I believe they even said not that long ago the because of the lockdowns that they had to push back the release of P30 in 120.

P30 stock becomes occasionally available at macodirect.de. By chance I saw availability at the beginning of August and bought three rolls.

For any product out of stock you can enter your email to get notified, once it is back in stock. I believe you don't even need a shop account for that. This way you could monitor availability if you'd like.

Yes 35mm. It might be old stock they’ve had for a few years and I just never noticed it before. No idea as I haven’t really followed this Ferrania thing in any sort of detail.

The Ferrania film does not interest me. I just mentioned it in case someone is looking for P30 rolls.

Sorry, @michael_r, but I don’t see how you posts can be helpful, as all we know is that you live in Montreal, Canada, and that “your usual store there” has some rolls in stock. I could call them and ask myself, but I would need at least the name of the store.
