dude it was about how those women are running everything in the art world
not about cropping, get with the program !
Why aren't men being treated fairly? The deck is stacked against them. What happened to fairness and equal rights?

IDK, and IDK why women aren't being treated fairly either ... if you ask me, its pretty messed up.

The people who inhabit the art world do tend to be ahead of most social curves.

yup, we make neighborhoods safe and try to be inclusive .. there is a lot of stuff to fear ! :surprised:

How did a thread about cropping become a diatribe on gender politics?

Because this was posted:
Curators are mainly art history majors, not artists or photogs themselves. In 2018, roughly 65% to 70% of the curators of photography at museums are women.

Here was one art museum that had an 89% women curatorial crew. (did not figure gender % currently.)

https://www.brooklynmuseum.org/about/curatorial_staff/

and it could use come clarification (still waiting...).

Perhaps it's good that the awaited clarification was not forthcoming. Me, I like women. The more the merrier.

Here's a question: accepting that curators are mostly women, isn't that a good thing?

And given that many actually studied and graduated in art history to become curators (my sister did), isn't that a great outcome ?

Would we rather pay artists to be curators, rather than having them struggle the way most unpaid artists do?
