Hotel for APUG Spring 2007 meet

I have researched the area of South Hereford for accommodation and the best option is the Forest View Hotel at Symonds Yat East. web:- www.forest-view-hotel.co.uk With an expected requirement of 3 double rooms and 7 singles there was not a lot of choice particularly with the high ratio of singles.
Forest View has 11 rooms, a bar for residents only, with an adjoining lounge area which on the expected numbers we would have to ourselves. The dinner bed & breakfast rate is £60 per person per night, same rate for single or doubles.
The B.&B. rate is £40 double, £50 single per person per night so the dinner option makes sense if we make good use of the dining room.
The hotel over looks the river with footpaths one way for riverside walks and the village the other way. Symonds Yat Rock is about 5 mins. drive away.

Can you please let me have your comments or views by Wednesday and if this hotel is acceptable I will agree booking arrangements with the owner and post these so you can all make your bookings direct with the Hotel.

Tony

Non-smoking too. Sounds good, Tony!

Thanks for your efforts. Yes, a double room for me; it sounds very pleasant. Do you want a deposit or do we contact the hotel directly? John (pyrometol)

Another thanks from me - please let me know when the contact details are posted, and what (if any) reference to quote when booking a room.
Cheers
Aynsley

Thank you very much - hotel looks great.

Richard

Cheers Tony - looks great to me

Spring 2007 Meeting-Ross-on-Wye

All seems agreed on Forest View Hotel, Symonds Yat EAST, Herefordshire, HR9 6JL.
Can you all telephone the hotel, 01600 890210, and make your booking. The man to speak to is Darrell Clewer and tell him you are part of the APUG group. The rate is £60 per night per person single or double for dinner bed and breakfast. We arrive afternoon/evening of Friday 20th April 2007 with dinner that night and Saturday night and leave Sunday morning April 22nd, two nights. He will keep this weekend for us for the next three or four weeks.
If there are any queries or questions let me know straight away.
Tony

P.S. Can I ask for a volunteer to book suitable weather!!

Spring 2007 Meet

Hi Tom,
There are definitely 9 rooms about to be taken with almost certainly a tenth. this leaves the 'one suite of rooms' available (includes a lounge) at a higher rate. If more want to come then there is other accomodation in the village which I am sure could be arranged if it is not left too late.
Tony

One single booked.

Many thanks, Tony, for an absolutely outstanding job.

One single booked, many thanks Tony for making the arrangements. Weather? It will be just fine.

Spring 2007 meet

Hi Tom,
Dave has taken the "suite" so that leaves one standard room not spoken for and available.
Tony

That's right. I've decided that I'm should try and take my annual bath whilst there.

If you could leave it until the Saturday night I'd be obliged. I think I can wear a peg on my nose for that long and I'd like a few shots of the River Wye while it's still flowing...

Cheesecake? I'm a little concerned that there is not a mention of it on the Forest View Hotel website! Perhaps we should make a group purchase before we go?

Again...?! :surprised:

Hi all
I've left this for a little while, out of deference to those APUG members of greater membership seniority by age than my own, who may wish to attend - having said that, I've booked with Darrell this evening.
Intended arrival for dinner on Friday.
I look forward to meeting you all.
Actually, I quite like cheesecake, is this a relevant issue??? (just a vibe I thought that I picked up...)
Cheers
Aynsley

You will be most welcome A.C.
Cheesecake? not relevant at all, although FrankB seems to have developed a taste for it.
Membership seniority; now there's a thought.:surprised:
