Are we limited to vegetables and root fruits? I'd like to go by 'bacon', mainly because it's so good. What's bacon in latin, Matt?

I have seen the title of the thread and was almost afraid to open it. I should have left it alone...

Bacon in Latin (pig latin anyway) - porkus greasius.

I thought Porkus Greasius was a Roman poet who wrote "Days of Swine and Roses" which was later made into a porcinema starring Miss Piggy and Kevin Bacon..no?

(I only got 4 hours of sleep last night....I apologize.)

Bacon reminded me of the honey roast ham in the fridge... which has just gone down a treat with egg and chips!

Perhaps he was a colleague in Palestine with Biggus Dickus and Incontinentia Buttox.

Bacon is obviously a winner. I think I'll change my signature line, and I'll drink to Monty Python.

Ian, my wife usually does this to me: She'll wake up at some random time after midnight, only to tell me "You know what would taste good right now?"... So I usually end up cooking in the middle of the night. Thankfully I read your post some time around 5.30 PM... Eggs, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato. With crisps of course...

once, many moons ago, around the hour of 3am, I sat at a diner and ordered a biscuit sandwich with sausage (3 kinds - andouille, breakfast sausage, and jalapeno sausage), ham, eggs, 2 kinds of cheese. The waitress asked, "No BACON?"... I replied, "Bacon? of course, please wrap the entire biscuit sandwich in bacon"

It was the most glorious sight to behold.

true beauty... and dare I say... ART?....

:D
