The curve looks very much like it's been pre-exposed.
it is Agfa-Gevaert Aviphot 80.Looking at its spectral sensitivity, its similar to Ilford SFX... with finer grain. Hmmmm... I might have to try some 4x5 if I can find some...
it is Agfa-Gevaert Aviphot 80.
I have done intensive side-by-side comparison tests of Aviphot Pan 80 and ADOX HR-50. Result: The films are different, and the differences are significant.
HR-50 has better shadow detail and a significantly better characteristic curve (more linear and less S-shaped). HR-50 also offers visibly better results in reversal processing (BW transparencies): It can manage a wider contrast range (better 'dynamic range'). The ADOX HR-50 / Scala 50 transparencies (slides) are really outstanding. This film has become my most used BW reversal film meanwhile.

I was reluctantly planning to try Rollei Retro 80 for IR. Now I can use HR50 with less trouble.
I'd find that information important. Any dev good for Aviphot would be good for HR50. Indeed Amaloco AM74 worked well on the one roll I tried. Both normal and IR.
Reversal Kit news???
You should use "ADOX IR-HR Pro" which is the HR-50 without speed boost (preflash).I was reluctantly planning to try Rollei Retro 80 for IR. Now I can use HR50 with less trouble.
Why? Retro 80 supposedly had problems with high contrast and blown highlights. If the Adox is the same Aviphot, but preflashed, it's a better film with friendlier characteristics. You should use "ADOX IR-HR Pro" which is the HR-50 without speed boost (preflash).
We are in the final phase. The new ADOX BW reversal kit will come soon.
As soon as it is available and ready for shipment, we will immediately inform you here.
