Yes!

Corn - I don't think we'll ever have the climate for rice here. Temperature-wise, I suppose it might be possible now, but I guess it's too dry. IDK though, maybe one day? Most arable land (which is about all of the land to begin with) here is either pastureland or corn. Then a whole lot of nothing, and then some more varied crops. Between corn and grass most of it is covered.

Thank you. Today a went back in an attempt to improve the picture with my Technical Camera. With the Technical Camera there is a possibility to alter the plain of focus.

Very good one. It is funny how it immediately grasps you. I cannot explain why because:
1. I don't really know what makes it good (for me at least)
2. If I try to explain it, I will usually say nonsense

Thanks for your kind comment. I don't know why or even if the image works; I do like it personally. I was about to capture the photo with just the stairs and no person, but my wife walked on and when I saw here there in the viewfinder everything fell into place.
I also made more or less the same photo but without my wife. Of course that doesn't work, because it lacks my wife. I'm very fond of her, so a photo with her in it will generally be a better one. Obviously.

I think one of the reasons this image - and images like it - is instantly appealing is because we respond strongly to bilateral symmetry when we see it. But it also presents us with a situation where “one of these things is not like the other” (human figure + lamppost) phenomenon, disrupting the symmetry and creating tension, which we also respond to.
It helps that the image also makes good use of strong graphic elements.

Quite true, I would have used the word tension to describe that image too.
I have to note also the woman that moves toward the light indicating that something is outside the frame adding extra complexity.
Also the way she is captured, moving but giving the impression of static is very photographic.
Also the strong form, the symmetric curvature plays a role.
I said I wouldn't analyse on it but I did in the end 😄
But still I don't really know why this image is so good. We cannot touch it just try to explore it with words that might seem nonsensical
