Lets see, I am shaking the snow globe and It says, last year H 70-75 L40-45 and some rain the last week of Sept.

Curt,

Be careful about the Greer Garson stories she is well lover in Santa Fe. She gave a lot of money to The College of Santa Fe.

Let's see what else BLACK shoes, soxes, UW, shirt, hat, that just about does it. Oh and lots and lots of silver. That should do just fine. That should get you into a good Bar fight in Espanola.

Jan Pietrzak

Santa Fe isn't the only one, she was spectacular in Random Harvest, one of the best movies ever made. Isn't she great in the song and dance number? I play it once in a while to get really cheered up.

Mike c,

That's just tonight, it is trying to rain and the show outside my window is great. But the key word is trying to. Our brave Aussie is in the closet, go figure. Dog, outside, herding sheep, on the land, one clap of thunder and she's gone. Remember the word EL NINO (sp?) That changed everything for this year. Oh the guys in the prop dept., well they will try.

I used to have a Red Healer. The louder and faster anything was the more she wanted to bite it. No joke, we would have to chase her off the business end of chainsaws. Thunder was her lullaby.

Interesting thought of the three steps of abstraction from reality to B&W and only two for color.

2D, Scale, and lack or color.

It's something maybe we know about and don't think about that much, it was interesting to hear it out loud. It makes sense and is worth a slow thought. I found the video really stimulating. He really takes it down to the elements doesn't he?

Jan I'm probably the most boring person you will meet. I do appreciate a great looking auto, car or truck or hillbilly. Bars, it's not my thing. I can only enjoy a drink once and a while. Dr.'s orders. After next week it might not even be once in a while.

I remember Blue books, that plain faded blue lined paper double spaced and in an odd size, blue book. Buy one for each final exam in the University bookstore and don't write on it until you are in class. With a #2 pencil print your name, class, date on the front, turn it over and wait to start.

Yep those days are long gone now and all that's left is this old man who can't remember what happened yesterday but remembers when he was 5 years old, what he did, what he ate, and what he wore. Oh the halcyon days of Summer with that Radio wagon and a little dog named Spot.

It's looking like 45 days until the workshop, since it's coming right up I'm getting my things ready and made a list of what to bring. I'll review the homework again before I go, other than that are you folks doing?

45 days is a long time, i hope to "waste" much good film before traveling to NM. What to bring will most likely be desided the night before the flight and house will be cleaned a few times too.
I know it is a WS but i treat it as a week of vacation with my camera.

I'm constantly cleaning cleaning cleaning, doing the dishes and more dishes, I was feeling demoted in life and mentioned the house work to my Dentist, he said doing the dishes was one of his jobs at home. I thought if my Dentist has to do the dishes then why complain. It's been better now.

On the Tonopah workshop I flew to Las Vegas and literally decided on the camera the night before. I hope to do better this time. The weather is changing so much around here the darkroom either needs some heat or some air conditioning. When it moderates a little I'm back in there but if it doesn't I'll pull the night shift when it's cool.

The camera was never in question for me but the lens selection was actually what i meant would be desided on the night before. Wide angles i think will be primary for me but need to have a little of everything which is a problem when flying to NM.
I was thinking about driving which would make it so much easier since i could bring much more gear but in the end i think it is healthy not to have to much.

JPL,Thats my thoughts also,The more lens and camera's the more decisions that have to be made .No matter how much you take its never enough,so decided on less and just walk a little more.

hi mark

if you want to understand piet mondrian
look up theosophy. his post-representational paintings
were all based on theosophy, right angles, primary colors, right angles
purity truth and harmony. he was very involved in the de stijl movement
( think bauhaus but dutch ) ... and like many of the art movements
from the years around ww1 it was a reaction to the state of the political-world
and a revolt against the old art-world.
the religious movement he was active in ( theosophy ) is still around today.

Neoplasticism is his creation and painting became a "devotional" experience.

Knowing the Tenets is essential to understanding his art.

•Coloration must be in the primary colors of red, blue and yellow or the noncolors of black, gray and white.
•Surfaces must rectangular planes or prisms.
•Aesthetic balance must be achieved and this is done through the use of opposition.
•Compositional elements must be straight lines or rectangular areas.
•Symmetry is to be avoided.
•Balance and rhythm are enhanced by relationships of proportion and location.
