Well, it was an interesting morning to say the least. Had a shot all figured out.... one I had seen a few weeks back while shooting 35mm. So i decided to revisit it for the negative exchange with my RB67.

Drove 40 minutes to the site, trudged through the melting snow & ice & mud & rocks. Set up the tripod, mounted the camera & 250mm. Spent a little time composing the image, then pulled out the meter. Took several readings, both incident and reflected 1° spot. Determined f/8 at ¼ sec was correct for the dynamic range.

Pulled the film back off and reached into the bag for a roll of Ilford Pan-F. Opened the box, the foil wrapper and tore off the adhesive strip. Opened the film back and.........................

That was the sound you heard about 4 hours ago. It was me.

Anyhoo..... All is well in the cosmos now. Roll exposed and now hanging up to dry. As I was pouring the fixer in, the mail truck came by, so I missed getting the negs out today and will have to wait until Monday.

Ouch, that's not funny at all. A good thing I always load up before I leave. But I'll make a note to put an extra empty spool in my car anyway. Thanks for the lesson.

I always kept a few extra spools in my bag 'back in the day'. I just hadn't got back into that habit yet. At least until I got back home. Now there's two of 'em in the bag.

Negaholics Anonymous

Same boat here, but I'm watching and hoping this catches on and becomes a regular ongoing activity.

Me too!

Scott, I think I'd like to participate in 35mm. Should be good fun. I'll shoot some negs tomorrow. Y'all going to get some grainy negs to deal with...

Silver gelatin.
Minneapolis.

I'm back:cool: and have sent mailing details to Adrian and Loren. Is Thomas included in the 35mm group? I'm sending him my info nonetheless. Hope he gets to participate:smile:

Thomas - participate away! There's still plenty of room and plenty of time.

Great! Thanks. I'll be sending my contact info out to the other 35mm group members.

I guess Group 5 is now like this:

Group 5: 35mm
Bob Walberg (walbergb)
Adrian Dear (Adrian D)
Loren Sattler (Loren Sattler)
Thomas Bertilsson (Thomas Bertilsson)

Getting a little behind, but did take some photographs today hope there are OK.

My negs went out today!

Just got your negs in the mail anikin, got a choice of two and they both look real interesting, might have to print both!!!

The negative has arrived in perfect condition! It looks quite interesting! Now I need to find the time to print it!

Eugene.

I'm jealous. I'm really looking forward to working with someone else's negative. Patience. Patience:whistling: Delayed gratification (I keep telling myself)

Have not decided on neg to send and working double time at work now and finding it hard to find time to print the neg I got, hope fully this week end!!!

My film is exposed but I haven't had a chance to process it yet. I had a pipe freeze and burst in my kitchen, which flooded my basement (where my darkroom is). Fortunately the darkroom stayed mostly dry, but I've had other bigger concerns to worry about since the pipe break. I'll try to get 'round to souping the film this weekend.

My negs are done - shot and developed - but...there seems to be an issue with my camera so I may have to go re-shoot them. I'll take a better look at what I've got in the morning.

I made three negatives and processed them, but I'm not super happy with them. Going to try another roll this weekend.

I've got 4 rolls to develop yet ...... wait ..... I'm not in this exchange ...... yet ..... next round ........

My advice is to start now for the next exchange. At least from now on, I'll be keeping this exchange in mind when out shooting. As you can see from the comments above and from my own experience, it's waaay harder to make four perfect negatives on a short notice than just picking a good one from your archives.
