There is nothing wrong with any of your lenses, except that they are all screaming to be taken out and used more. Really it is a good selection that should let you handle any situation. I wish I had a collection like that. Keep them all.
I took it back to FreeStyle and they gave me full credit for it which I then used to buy the Jobo 3010 Expert Drum and I have been a happy camper ever since.
Since COVID hit and my travels are limited, I am not even shooting several rolls a month. Just hold on to your cameras and wait it out. It might seem like it will last forever, but it will not. Just hang in there. Meanwhile, can I buy you a drink?
The only tanks that I really did not like are the Yankee 4"x5" tanks because when you move them back and forth across a table as recommended by the manufacturer the chemical slosh out of the top.
It is a matter of stock on hand and fate that I ended up with a Hasselblad rather than the Rollei SL 66. With either of them one must carefully follow all the cocking, winding, ... steps to avoid jamming the camera. Take your time to get familiar with the camera and lenses. From my Hasselblad...
On rare occasion I have had problems with the tape sealing exposed film. As a result, I put strips of masking tape or painter's tape on the sides of my film backs and the plastic boxes that hold the spare rolls. Try it, I hope it works for you.
Some times the solution is to just take a road trip. Yes the gas costs money, but then the enlarger will not get bounced around as much and in the less time and effort will be spent realigning the enlarger.
Sure I would like a pristine M series Leica for $10US and while we are at it I would like to be 50 years younger and 20 pounds lighter will all the physical ramifications. If there is still space, I could go for a new body replacement too. What else do you have available?
I prefer incident for portraits and the white on white background and black on black background photographs. I use the spot meter for making Zone System measurement for getting certain chosen shadow details. Otherwise indexed or averaging light meters without the sky is my go to method.
I do not see anything to complain about your Delta 3200 shot at 3200. Considering the lighting situations and what you were dealing with, the photographs came out quite well.
Most people know what an insult is.
Respect is earned or lost, not given.
The moderators here are very good, hard working and know what they need to do to keep this website an open welcoming place to ask questions and ask for help.
It only takes a few self proclaimed experts to insult people and drive them away from here. The moderators work hard to stop them in the act, but it helps if each of use would reach for the Report Button when we see it happening to stop it sooner.
While Kim Weston had the advantages of a great coach and mentor, he had to work much harder than the rest of us to get noticed in his own right. He deserved the respect that he has earned.
When I was selling cameras to work though college, my father who had given me several cast off tlrs had bought a Mamiya C2, then traded up to a C33. I told him that the best thing he could do for himself was to buy a Porro Prism. Once he tried it on, he never removed it. I worked with the...
I like to learn something from everyone. One day it was about to double knot a very long shoe lace and the five or six year old came running up shouting "No, no, no!" He bent over and took the very long bows and instead of double knotting them, he used them as though each was a shoe lace and...
Alan Ross has a nice way of clearing out the unnecessary to keep the message and the methods as simple and direct as possible. I was not up to speed on PhotoShop so I was not able to follow some of what he was doing.
I have a large thick plywood board that I place over my double sinks in the bathroom for the trays. I use the bathtub for the print washer.
My enlarge is quite heavy so I leave it set up in a bedroom and never move it.
I hope these ideas help you.
I could not and still do not like to deal with left right reversals with the WLF, so when I bought my Hasselblad I also purchased the PME prism as the same time. No longer moving in the wrong direction to track a moving subject.
We can and I have spent too much time sweating getting the shadow details and not spending enough time looking at the unwanted objects showing up on the ground glass!:mad::mad:
