I had a MInolta STR100 with the Rokkor f/2.8 21mm lens, the Rokkor 28mm lens and the Rokkor 50mm lens. I bought a Vivitar 85mm to 205mm pre Series I lens and its contrast was poor compared to the Rokkor lenses.
My point is that the grading scale in not set in concrete. It varies from company to company and product to product. What matters is the final print, not the numbers.
I rarely photograph is light sources in the composition, however avoiding films without the antihalation backing just removes having to worry about something that I should never had to worry about to begin with.
I load all film format with the image upside down so what I am seeing on the easel appears right side up. Plus that keeps the subjects from sliding off the print and hitting their heads. 😖
