OK we violently agree on: They are all crème de la crème, and the differences between them lie strictly within scientific/academic/engineering realm, not in one's photographs.

I find the SWC view finder good enough to properly crop the composition in the lens. Sometimes if the bottom of the composition is in question, turn the camera upside down. But still no reason for the pesky corners, I wish I could sand them off the view finder.
When taking photographs, sometimes accidents happen. #454 still stands. Photograph was never meant to replace everything that a paint brush could do; photography is its own media with its own forms and styles.
That is a bit better though than stopping the bullet with ones own body. Frankly I would rather that the camera stop the bullet then my body doing the heavy lifting in this case.
