Very wide lenses take care to use. Novices like to "take it all in", but that wears thin. Having one close or closer object dominating is a common usage for very wide lenses.
This changing room mentioned in several post above have a wire structure that compresses flat and is popped up when using to provide a large non collapsing volume to work in. Much like the one in post #23 but with the arm sleeves coming in from opposite sides.
Decades of snapshots and lousy snapshots paid for Kodak, Ansco, et al, to do film research & development and to build manufacturing facilities. Keep those snapshots coming while I continue to take photographs.
The problems with MTF curves is
Most manufactures do not provide them.
When the MTF curves are provided, there is not standard and curves from different sources cannot be directly compared.
Only Hasselblad provided MTF curves for all its lenses, but again they could not be directly compared to...
All spark plugs are metric. When Henry Ford wanted a durable well working spark plug the only source that was strong enough and consistent enough was Bosch and the metric thread became standard in the US.
