NOT A STUPID QUESTION
I have had this happen to me. There is a pin in the film back that got stuck [bent, worn, grease, … ] and did not pop out when you removed the back and the previous roll. While there is film in the back there is nothing one can do, so finish the roll, then when the film...
Ball heads have the advantage that with them one can easily correct an aiming error that does on coincide with one of the three axis provided by the three axis heads.
Steve's Camera has been recommend to me by @BrianShaw and Samy's camera, when Samy's in Culver City could not perform the needed services. They have serviced a Pacemaker Speed Graphic and a Hasselblad 903 SWC for me.
Hasselblad: cameras, wide choice of lenses, parts and service are still widely available whereas for many other candidate cameras this is not the case.

Silly me. When the professional photographers were dumping there film Hasselblads and lenses around 2007, I bought my 503 CX for $400US, the 45 degree PME for $150US, the 80mm for $500US, the 50mm, 150mm and 250mm for $400US to $800US, and the 903 SWC for $3200US. I kept posting on APUG and...
My Hasselblad repairman has told me that the lenses should be fired 10 to 15 times at 1 second every three months. Also he and Hasselblads and lenses should be stored cocked; the springs were designed to be stored cocked.
About the same time I traded in my inherited Mamiya C330f with three lenses for a Hasselblad 503 CX and a 250mm lens. I then proceeded to buy us more Hasselblad lenses. That is when I changed my name to Sirius Glass.
