Frankly, the ISO boost is small and I very rarely notice it, but then if I want shadow detail I use the Zone System metering and that would be more shadow detail than the ISO boost.

XTOL and its equivalents have the following characteristics which you may find useful: fine grain, smooth tonality, sharpness and is a very forgiving developer.
C-41 has a broader Subject Brightness Range than E-6 and therefore more shadow depth is possible. That allows C-41 allows one to have a usable exposure that is not required to be exactly on or very close to the exact exposure.
I have tried several developers and found that XTOL or its equivalents is very forgiving, has better tonality, finer grain, and sharper than most other developers as well as provide a small ISO boost. I also like PyroCat HD with Glycerin.
My Hasselblad repairman recommends, and I follow, firing every lens 10 to 15 times at 1 second every three months to avoid needing the lenses worked on. I have my computer/iPhone calendar to remind me.

I standardized on CF lenses, and I agree with your your comments and find all the Hasselblad lenses sharper than any other equivalent focal length lenses that I have used.
