Welcome to Photrio.
Since I bought my enlarger from Craig's List, I would recommend starting there. Local sales are more likely since shipping cost would dominate the price.
Thank you. I wonder how those compare with the Hasselblad 907 which would utilize my CF lenses with a minimum of problems according to Samy's Camera at a cost of ~$4500US + tax.
I buy my cameras and lenses from KEH so if they turn out to have problems, KEH will fix them or replace them or I buy the from sellers who will take back returns. I learned in the early 1960's that machine code for computers is best written by someone else and similar logic applies to camera...
Tripods provide stability and the inconvenience of size, weight and awkwardness when compared to a monopod which is less stable but easier to carry around. I prefer tripods because I find a monopod gets in my way when I have to set it down when I shoot hand held. The choice between the two is...
Polarizing sunglasses or a polarizing filter could cause those artifacts. If one were to use a very wide angle lens such as a 20mm lens and put a polarizer on it, the effect of the polarization will vary from one side of the frame to the other. That is why I stopped using polarizing filters on...
When I buy a Hasselblad camera body, lens or back I automatically take to my Hasselblad service man at Samy's Camera and he checks it at no cost and makes any necessary adjustments. I do the same with used Nikon equipment and any other camera. A quick trip and I have peace of mind.
I bought a...
Welcome to Photrio
I have had the same problem. The back needs service. It probably is because some dirt or debris needs to be cleaned out and adjustments need to be made.
The reason the lens does not stay cocked is that at least one part, possibly the shutter shaft is worn or bent. Have a Hasselblad repairman adjust or repair it. I had that happen to one of my Hasselblad lenses.
I find developers which have not been mixed tend to last for long time periods, but mixed developers can go either way. Stock XTOL if sealed tightly without air can last well over a year. I make it a habit to test all developers that I have not recently used.
On www.graflex.org Bert Saunders who was a retired Graflex and Graphics repairman told me to remove the shutter from the lens and lightly sprinkle dry graphite powder on the each side of the shutter, cock and fire the shutter a number of times, blow the excess graphite off the shutter and then...
Bubbles: Fill the tank more full and after each filling thump the tank on a hard surface several times to break loose the bubbles from the film surface. I thumped my tanks are a thick block of linoleum.
As advised my my Hasselblad repairman, every three months remove the back from the camera and fire every lens 10 to 15 times at 1 second to keep the Hasselblad lens shutters from getting sticky or stuck.
I suspect since the red dot is slightly off that the shutter shaft is worn or slightly bent. I had that happen. In that case the lens sounded like it fired but the shutter never opened. A trip to the repair man will settle the question once and for all.
I prefer top loading camera backpacks because they ride comfortably on the back, can sit without tipping over and if left open, things are less likely to fall out.
Well I resisted with all my might but there are somethings in which digital has clear advantages: underwater photography [do not have to come out of the water to reload] and for this trip to Antarctica [not reloading in blustery weather], airport CT scans, … This is not an opportunity to start...
