The RPX was my Nikon FT3- I don't know what happened but I could definitely feel it advancing "tighter" as I got to the end.
Ultrafine was the Argus, but again, don't know what quite happened, but, I previously did break two 36 exposure rolls in it so I've pretty much stuck to 24 exposure rolls.
And right after you sent me this message, I broke a roll of UN54 in my Argus C3 in a different area... that I know because I tried to advance the film when I probably should have rewound it.
Those old Argus C3's are usually pretty trouble free except for shutter timing sometimes. Sounds like the advance is binding, but who knows. One thing about an Argus C3 is that it's certainly not a M3 Leica as far as replacement value. They used to be in every shoebox or top dresser draw in Michigan. A good one is getting a little harder to find, but not too much harder than in the past.
55 years expired 2475? Totally useless. Don't bother. Gamma rays are not your friend!

the issue I'm having is that it gets tougher as I get closer to the end of the roll- figured I might not have been loading it properly but it could be that too.
my local camera store has a few for sale but I think they'd all need some sort of maintenance

See my post 113 above, Oct 19 25. A fair result shooting 1982 dated film at EI 25 and developing in Rodinal 1:25 for 9m 20C.

Holga 400- figured this was going to be some repackaged film, and looking at the dev times figured it was Foma 400, so I decided to give it a 1:12 Rodinal Dev.

also- just loaded my 1970 expired recording film today- my plan is a bracket test from iso 12-3, massive dev chart recommends a 4.5 min. dev at Rodinal 1:25, but some of you have cited longer dev times. anybody got any pointers?

What is "Kodak Recording Film 2475"?
Found this in my gadget bag: KODAK RECORDING FILM 2475, RE 135-36, expired 1971. What is it? It is *way* older than me. All I know is that this is a 1000ASA film (from an old photography book).

Eastman Double X (Flic Film), also my favorite Kodak BW film in Rodinal 1:25, I was honestly surprised with how grainy this one turned out, definitely qualifies for low dilution.
Looks overdeveloped.
When I started out and didn't knew anything, I used Rodinal and T max 400. Turned out sharp, but grainy. Used semi stand development.

Alright- I just finished the 55 years expired Recording film, how should I develop in Rodinal 1:25, should I follow the massive dev chart and go 4.5 minutes or should I push it longer?
Expect serious base fog, and lots of curl!

it'll be a while before I post the results, but I just developed the recording film- gave it 10 minutes in Rodinal 1:25 at 68ºF, and as expected, dense fogged results, but there are images.

There are probably other threads on this but is it ever a good idea to use Benzotriazole in cases like this? What I've read from people who have actually done A/B tests is that you lose a bit of speed using it but get better contrast. @Andrew O'Neill used it to good effect recently to get better contrast for an alt process print. But if you were just going to scan the film would it be useful? Perhaps if you were not scanning and 5 contrast filters were not enough you'd accept some speed loss to make printable negatives, but should you otherwise just print though it?
This is my favourite Photrio thread. I've got some stupid old film, some of which is badly fogged. I owe posts from my Kodak X collection. It started when I was opening a bulk film loader I had bought and saw film peeking through the film gap. It turned out to be Panatomic-X and the light leak damage was gone after the second roll. I became a fan decades after it was discontinued. Then another bulk roll had the old Tri-X; clearly not same as modern Tri-X, I see what people mean. Then there's my previous favourite Plus-X, now discontinued. Now I went looking and found Kodak 2484. Mine's down to about ISO 50, and I've tried it in my Minox. Was surprised to discover there was a Kodak 4-X, and I have some that's down to about Iso 25. I have a few rolls of Recording film which I haven't tried yet, and a large format roll of Super-XX that I also haven't tried yet. Discovered yesterday that there was a "Background-X" but don't have any.
Alright this is a pretty crunchy contender: 1952 expired DuPont Superior 3, exposed at EI 32, developed in Kalogen 1+50 for 9 minutes.
