My fourth C3, all my RF's are Argus's (?) Save for one lower end Tower.

I think I might look for something Russian.

I like the Russian clones. I have a Zorki 4K with 50mm lens, Keiv 4AM with 50mm and 35mm lenses and 35mm viewfinder, and a Fed 2. All work and look great.

Took delivery of a Braun Paxette IIM today. I am a big fan of the Paxette range. This one has an uncoupled rangefinder but that is so awkward to use I shall use it as a scale focus camera.

Contax IIa

I've lusted after a Contax IIa for a long time and finally got one.

This one works well. Needed a little cleaning and has one Zeiss bump. Came with a Sonnar 50/2 (about which I will be posting, next) in great shape. No scratches, just a few specs of dust, no coating loss, all working as it should. Even the rangefinder seems to be as it should. Easy enough to focus, much easier than the Fed 2 I played with for a little while.

Processed my first roll last night. This is Tri-X at 1600, stand dev'd in rodinal. Shot indoors using a Luna Pro F meter ... I think this is at F2 but maybe 2.8.

I recently acquired this immaculate Vivitar 35ES. What a lovely camera, with a razor-sharp/contrasty (and fast) 40mm f/1.7 lens. I get more enjoyment from this little gem than I do from my four Sony Alpha high-tech DSLR marvels! Looks terrific too!

Got a bessa r last weekend. A bit scratched and dusty in the viewfinder but seems to meter and expose fine with a quick 12exp roll I shot indoors. Putting it through its paces this week and it will be a nice supplement to the canon Vit I shoot with.

Put in what I thought was a silly bid <£50 for a Retina IIIC (big C) and won it! came today, and it's very, very tidy. Almost unmarked cosmetically, snappy shutter on all speeds, unmarked glass, and everything working including the meter. I've whipped the front off the shutter and carefully added a microscopic amount of lube to the pivots (which helped my IIc no end), lightly greased the rack and helical, and it's all pretty smooth. OK, so it's GAS! but I'm very pleased. A companion for my IIc.

It's nice enough that I might eventually even send it away to Chris Sherlock for a proper CLA (he had my IIIS for re-stringing a year or so back)

I really like the folding Retina's- they are a practical pocket camera (if a little heavy)

Nailed another Olympus XA. The one I have seems to be one of the sharpest lenses I've used in 35mm however rewind knob is cracked and flash shutter speed is off so am hopeful "new" one has as good a lens.

My most resent purchase, a lens converter. It lets me use my Canon SLR MF lenses on my rangefinder LTM bodies. A bit pricy, and you have to use zone focusing but what the hey. New life to old lenses!

Where did you find a LTM adapter? I've seen lots of others only converting to m mount. I'd like a Nikon to ltm adapter to use my 14mm lens on both my ltm and m mount rangefinders. And if you don't mind me asking how much was it?

It's called the Canon Lens Converter B. Adapts Canon FD to LTM. If you found the rare Nikon to Canon FD converter (Canon Lens Converter N), you could stack the two to achieve what you mention, including the LTM-M mount converter.

There is a Lens Converter N on the big auction site for $325 buy-it-now.

Ah that's quite an expensive route lol. I guess they don't make new versions of those adapters. I was planning to use my 14mm Ais lens on a ltm body. There is an ai to Leica m mount for about $40 though.

I too just scored an XA. 4 dollars on a flee market, with flash and case, and it even seems in perfect condition after putting in the batteries.

Hi All,

Last 4 weeks...

Minox 35GT, lost confidence due to an unexplained self-timer problem so returned to eBay seller for full refund.
Minox 35GTE inc case & lens hood, REAL problems, missing unexposed frames, exposure way off, returned to eBay for full reund.

Finally admitted I had to spend more, bought Rollei 35 S Sonnar again from eBay, which has yet to arrive.

AND THEN... The original Minox arrived BACK to me "undeliverable" so I've contacted the seller and asked how he want to proceeed. I do LOVE the little things but know they're fragile. The near silent shutter has delivered people pictures in really quiet locations.

Anyhow, I am honestly, really, really commited to buying FILM and PROCESSING rather than cameras now. Honest.

Oh, and I do realise that none of the cameras are actualy RF. I hope the Group is OK with a "not through the lens viewing" definition.

Picked up my first today while out and about. Retina IIc. Not hardly a mark on it. The shutter seems to work until you get below 1/30, then it wants to hang up a bit. That's the only thing I can see wrong with it, although I don't know anything about it  The rangefinder seems to be on, viewfinder pretty clear, and the lens nice, clear and free of marks.

I probably overpaid at $65, but it was too cool to leave there in the condition it seems to be in.

You got a good deal. The Retina IIc (small c) model has always been a favorite among users. It uses the slightly slower f/2.8 Xenon, an excellent lens.

The shutter should be serviced. Nothing out of the ordinary for a camera from the 1950s. Anything mechanical that's 60+ years old should be serviced.

Wife grabbed another at an estate sale for me. A Kodak Signet 80 with the field case and 35mm and 90mm lenses, as well as some filters and a hood. Really clean and functional, except where the guy engraved his driver's license number on the back--uggg. I went back and looked for the Multi-frame viewfinder for the two accessory lenses, but alas it wasn't there. I guess I'll need to hunt one down or try to wing the FOV.

Watching the mail for a 18 dollar Yashica MG-1, need parts for another one. Last cheap one worked great, gave it to my grandson.
