Last new film camera purchase was a Nikon FA for my wife, and it got sold about 15 or 20 years ago.
Next to last new film camera is an F3, which I still have. I traded in a Hasselblad 500C for it sometime around 1982.

few weeks ago, various components for a silvestri new so some of the camera is pre owned and some new. I wanted something that was going to last a life time and wanted as much of it as I could afford to be new (so not much of it.... )

I have just purchased a Bronica GS-1 6x7 and lenses. I'm exited to go back to analog photography that I was using as a teenager ( Olympus OM-2 ) and working as a young man in a pro photo lab. I was developing C-41 and had a large darkroom printing with all film formats from 135 to 4x5. Going back to my roots after extensive use of digital cameras last 20 years is refreshing and I'm looking forward to getting time alone with the camera on the South Downs ! Good to know there are others out there and on-line that have the same affinity yo " old school" photography !

Welcome, Yon. And what was the last new camera that you bought?
Hi The last new camera I purchased was an Olympus OM-D E-M1 . Sorry if that reply I posted was not in the correct form thread !

My father's cousin's 1963 Petri 7.
Hasn't been used since the 70s, but still works and light meter does too being all mechanical, even has the original case and all.

Brand new film cameras? I can probably remember all of them.
1975 - Praktica LTL
1976 - Pentax K1000
1979 - Rollei 35
1983 - Pentax ME Super
1990 - Pentax SF10
2004 - Leica M7
2010 - Nikon FM10
2011 - Leica M7 ALC
2013 - Leica MP
2013 - Voigtlander Bessa III
2014 - Nikon F6
2015 - Chamonix 4x5
2015 - Chamonix 10x8

And so very many secondhand cameras that I can't remember...

My last new film camera was a Pentax PZ-1p. Purchased it to fill out my PZ-1 battery of Pentaxes in the mid-90's. After that, I went 100% to Nikon, but have yet to purchase a new Nikon film camera, including former F5, FE, F3-HP, N90s, all gone since 2008. . I own the F4s, F3-HP, F6, FA, FE, and FE2; all were bought used in the last year.

Minolta 7000i. Just after they replaced it with the 7xi, so it was on clearance. Since then, all 2nd hand.

Last and only new camera was a Minolta XD5 sometime in the very early eighties. All the Nikon cameras and lenses have been bought used. I switched to Nikon after using a new F3HP with a 55 micro-nikkor in the mid eighties. I need to add one of those to my collection, and an F2, and maybe an F4.

EOS Elan, in 1995. I wasn't then. fully aware of the extent of used photo gear availability, otherwise my 1982 AE-1 would have been my last one.

Wrong thread. You were not even born, when those cameras were made.

As it is explained in the first post of this thread, this discussion is about cameras that were purchased *new* when they were still *in production* by makers and were for sale on shelves.

I've bought a ton of new cameras. I've purchased a new lomo lc-a+, their lubitel 166+, a polaroid onestep 2, a voigtlander R3M, and a titan pinhole 4x5 camera. There are still quite a few new film cameras out there to be had.

I spent a good minute trying to recall if I'd ever purchased a new film camera. I'm almost certain the only one of the many film cameras I own that was purchased new is the Holga. I later hacked the lens off of it to try experimenting with other lenses using the body as a glorified film holder with shutter. Ok, I take that back, I also bought a point and shoot $20 camera from Walmart in about 2005.
