I bought my Olympus XA at a church sale for $3. I also found a nice Rollei XF 35 for $7.95 - these are vastly overpriced.

Last year, I bought six folding cameras for $300. All were in excellent condition, except one that needs its lens helicals relubed. The six are Super Isolette; Isolette III with an f/3.5 Solinar; Super Ikonta 531/2 (6x9) with a coated Zeisss-Opton Tessar; Certo 6 with a coated Jena Tessar; Balda Six and a Bessa I (6x9) with a coated Skopar.

More recently, from eBay: A Contax III with a working meter; Olympus 35 RC; and Agfa Optima Ia for $49. And then a clean working Rolleiflex SL35 body for $50.

I am yet to see a camera related anything worth spending $1 at a garage sale... not that I frequent many but will stop occasionly when I see some balloons and a sign!

Not a great deal in terms of pennies on the dollar... but a game-changer...

One of my most significant garage sale finds was a 6-foot stainless steel sink for $50. He had a speed graphic too, but I didn't exactly need another camera. Not as much as I needed that sink.

Once when I was dead broke in college, I was looking at one of those cases of junked cameras that they often have at antique stores. Lots of contaflexes, overpriced, and undoubtedly dead, Instamatics, a 2x3 graphic, a Ricoh or two. Then I saw in the back a little dumpy silver SLR- Miranda, Orion Camera Company.

I bought a GS-1 with the profits.

In the last two years, I've found two Polaroid Miniportrait cameras - the 203 two lens model and the 403 four lens model - and a Polaroid Spectra MB, all in working condition, for a total of about 8 bucks (I live in Tokyo, so 800 yen). The Spectra was 100 yen in the rummage shop near my house.

Recently found another Olympus 35RC in a box of old camera stuff at a garage sale. Cost for box was $20. The 35RC is in excellent condition, and everything works properly! The box also contained several packages of M2 and M3 flash bulbs, which I am putting to good use!

Pickup Nikkor S 50mm 1.4 the other day. Vintage 60's.

Beutiful lens.

I just picked up a very nice Mamiya 330 pro tlr. A good price, certainly not a steal. Also included 80mm and 55mm lenses, Luna-pro S, various filters, all in a Lowepro trekker aw backpack. Also picked up a Super Multi Coated Takumar 50mm f1.4. I will have to look into a Spotmatic F. I used to have one. Great camera.

I like the 55m better than the 65mm that I had. The 65mm I felt was too close to the 80mm for a wide angle lens.

Found a barely working Contaflex Super (old) at a yard sale. After a teardown and service it is now fully working.. I was even able to get the meter working again...

I got a Nikkormat FTn with a 50mm Nikkor Auto-S 1.4 lens for five dollars about a week ago.

No. 2 Box Brownie model E at a car boot (trunk) sale for £1.

Cleaned up nicely. Viewfinders now show an image rather than a blur and the shutter works again.

I now have a box camera which takes 120 film instead of messing about with 620 spools.

Yashica Electro 35 GTN. $6

Needs light seals, but that is a quick and easy job.

At a new store just opened in the area, a permanent garage sale. On Saturday I found a Loyd's bulk loader, in the original box, instructions printed in 1956, and no sign of prior use. $2.00

I know this isn't 35mm, but I just passed up on a really cheap 127 camera that I saw at a flea-market, unfortunately it had been baking in the sun all day, and I just don't need it, otherwise it would've been a great find for $5!

Also at a local flea market I found a Pentax-A 50mm f/2--dusty, but in very good condition. Cleaned up, it's a good, solid user lens on my Pentaxes. Nothing fancy, but $5.00.

Oh I almost completely forgot another flea market guy offered me ALL of his 35mm for $25, it was probably 8 SLR's and a handful of filters, sadly none I needed at all... Hope someone gets that deal.
