Do you like your business card? I've always asked others for their card...not just to have it "on file" but to see how they set up theirs and what "works" and "what doesn't" Here's mine... ...now show us yours.

I'm not trying for the marketing angle with this card.

I use them mostly when I am taking pictures of strangers in public places. Instead of getting their details, I give them a card, and tell them to e-mail me if they want a print sent out. It works much better then just asking to take their picture for me, and it cuts way back on the prints that I mail out, from when I took thier contact information.

I know that it is not a substitute for a model release, but my photography in those circumstances is for me, not about publishing anything. I do carry photo release forms with me as well when I am looking for something with a bigger goal in mind.

I print these cards in a landscape orientation onto card stock with a laser printer at my office, and cut them up using my darkroom paper cutter. This method means they cost me almost nothing.

I actually don't like having peoples business card "on file," because two years later you find a card and kill yourself trying to remember who the person is. But, I do end up keep the really good ones-- I'd like to think that mine is a really good one . . .

One of many revisions.

I had to scan this - the original is in .png format - so I hope the image retains something of the character. The "field" is a fair representation of "gold foil", and the "block" of ten cards is printed on regular card stock and laminated on the face, to provide a glossy (photographic paper-like) finish.

A couple of versions of mine. I just switch out the images every now and then. The text doesn't compress well when I downsized it for the web, but you get the idea.

For a long time my business cards were elaborate 4/c 8.5x11 printed pieces, usually from my Black Book or NY Gold pages. My career has a different focus now and my card has been simplified.

The stock is pure white but I grayed it so it would stand off the white web page.

Here is mine...

I print them on the Avery 8371 white business card paper (Inkjet) and have several images I can use. This one is of a 4x10 platinum/palladium print (Bull Creek Flat, Humboldt Redwoods State Park).

I like printing small amounts of the cards at a time -- I can change the info in the lower right to match my needs.

I just finished this design. Like others posted here, it only seems logical for a photographer's card to be a photograph. I can print the small supply that I need on my printer and cut them with a paper cutter or knife and straight edge,

Thanks Kate. The premise is that the website is a better container for information than a business card but a business card is a great way to help people get to the website. The site came first so making the card look like the site was just the logical way to go.
