Just scored a Yashica Electro 35 GTN from the Ipark mall electronics market. Paid about 45,000 won for it. Idiot me got excited about the deal and didn't check for corrosion of the batteries. Spend about 10 minutes trying to get the cap off, couldn't do it. Took the baseplate off and it's a little corroded, but it's definitely salvageable. got it soaked with some kerosene right now trying to get that corrosion to ease up enough to screw that cap off.

Ya know, I was surprised to see it had an adapter in it to use 4x LR44s already, So I might core out the edges of the inside to fit a px28 I have lying around from my broken TL Electro X

Got a question, could somebody walk me through the reassembly of the ASA selection? The yashica guy's wording is uncomprehensible to me right now.

Nice grab!I need to start going on these excursions.
Namdaemun market, (Hoehyeon sub station exit 5) has a nice strip of camera shops if you haven't been there yet. If you feel like meeting up the weekend after next I'll show you around my spots I've been hitting.

I have been there but never had the courage to engage a shopkeeper. I'd like to walk around with you but I'll be out of country from 14th to 2nd. Perhaps the time after that?

Take your fingers and turn that brass plate all the way to the right until it stops. Then place the chrome knurled ring-plate with the red line on the edge so the red line is close to the 4:00 O'clock position. That either 04:00 for you of course. That knurled plate can only be put on in two positions since it has an oval hole and not a round hole. After you have the chrome, knurled red line plate install you can then set the ISO/ASA plate with all the number on it in place. Line the red line up with ASA/ISO number 25. Then thread the retaining screw in and tighten down making sure the red line remains lined up with the number 25. You may have to loosen and reset the number plate a time or two to get it right because it will have a slight tendency to shift as the top screw is tighten.
