I don't have one, but when I needed a Series VI slip on ring, to fit a Series VI filter on to my Chrome front Mamiya-Sekor 105mm lens (the old one), I found plenty on eBay. AFAIR, it was less than $15.00, delivered, from Japan.

Series VI is incredibly common. The 2 1/2” Series VIII adapter... not so much.

Totally different diameters.

Correct, not as common! There are 3 on eBay right now at about 25-28$. I think one might be your size.

Search “series viii adapter “. I’d include links for you but couldn’t.

Don’t worry I’ve been all over eBay. There used to be 4 examples listed, but I bought the 4th one. They are 2 3/8” series VIII and don’t fit my 12” Commercial Ektar which requires 2 1/2” series VIII (you can dig into period catalogs too like I did).

Thanks, Kodak. :wondering:

Probably a consequence of having production in more than one part of the world, and more than one photographic market.

You might try Glenview. I got another Kodak adapter from him a few years ago. Grimes will make you one, of course, and it will be beautiful.

Also, when searching Ebay, you might search Series VIII lens hoods. Some come with a mounting ring, perhaps of the right size.

HI:
I have two 12 inch Ektars and have never been able to find one. I had one made, jury rigged, with the help of my local machine shop and it works well.
I am away from home and can not remember exactly how we did it (Alzheimer's?) but they charged $100 and, in y opinion, it was well worth it.
If you are interested let me know and I will send you photos and explanations when I return home in early Nov so that you can get yours made locally where you are.

I found mine on ebay, but it took awhile.

That was several years ago, and, IIRC, was in a small group of Series adapters.

Try setting up a "Google Alert" , as these rings do come up from time to time, and you may have some luck.

Looking at the link, they have a 66mm-Series Vlll. 2.5mm larger than what you want. I have some foam both 2mm and 3mm
if you want to try that on the inside of the 66. That would give you at least a temporary solution.

The 2mm has an adhesive back & the 3mm doesn't so contact cement is your friend.

Start a conversation if you would like a couple of strips & I'll throw them in envelope & get them to you.

Sorry for the delay. Here is the made to order adapter after waiting over a year for one original to come to market.
I do not remember
P1000117.JPG
P1000118.JPG
P1000120.JPG
P1000121.JPG
the cost but it was bellow$90. Price will depend on your location and machinist financials at time of order.
I could have easily been 1/2 inch shorter but the guy wanted to make sure if would not come off aiming down. It is quite snug and there is no way in hell it would fall even if it had been 50% shorter.

There is no need to blacken, I think I did not do a good job with the photos.
The holder goes over the outside of the front element and goes all the way to the front rim so no part of it is exposed to light on its inner surface.

I should have noted that, but I am only on the first part of the first coffee today, so thank you for pointing that out.

Cheers!

It looks like a really well made accessory.
That would be an excellent piece for someone to 3D print since they're a bit like chicken lip sandwiches.

Nice hood; which focal lengths does it handle, other than the 300mm/12"?

It looks a little snug and long from my pc.

Far as I know it was made specifically for this lens. I could be wrong, but since that’s the only lens I own that the adapter (and hence the hood) fits on...then it’s the only one that counts.

Congratulations I went through the same thing, same lens, took me at least 6 months to find one. I didn't get a neat original box though .
