A half plate - partly mahogany? - holder with no trademark/name (seems from same manufacturer as the one shown in #27, but has 'opposite' wood color and in part other dimensions).

Measurements in inches are as follows:
A = 5,91
B = 0,42
C = 0,16
D = 0,12
E = 0,16
F = 7,80
G = 1,17 there is no slope
H = 4,40
I = 2,23 including slope
This one does have a notch for a slot at the side at 0,63 inch from the bottom.

These are known to fit:

The 2 holders in my collection both have the letter A stamped at their left side (although not to be seen in the 2nd picture).
The inner sides of the slides have digits stamped: nrs. 50 and 50A, and the other nrs. 8 and 8A.

In my collection I have 3 of these holders; two have plated hinges.

In all 3 of my holders on each inner side of the slides (the same) digits are imprinted: 16, 22 and 23.
Two of the holders have imprinted numbers at their sides (which do not correspond with the numbering for the plates): a 3 and the other a 10

This holder has imprinted or rather scratched lines (like roman numerals) at the inner side of the slides: I I I X and X I V.
Further, the name of the manufacturer is stamped in the wood under the plate numbering, reading: W.M. Hume Edinburgh.
The numbering to indicate the plates is also stamped in the wood.

camera's by J. Lancaster & Sons, but camera type is unknown, probably The Instantograph.
Other members might report which type of Lancaster camera's would match these holders.

Also peculiar is that this holder does have hinges at the sides as well as at the top!
At the inner side bottom edge of the holder a little 'V' is stamped.
At the sides the holder has (similar) rims at the edges and in the middle (see 2nd picture).
