I thought it was late 70s, that might have been when Polaroid filed, trying to remember when Kodak pulled the cameras off the market and had to buy back cameras had had been sold.

I think they gave people Disc cameras in exchange for the Instant ones they had to recall. I think it was mid-80s. Polaroid, I think, filed a lawsuit as soon as Kodak released their first instant camera.

So not a couple of years, but not 20, either.

That was the money part of the judgment, which arguably Kodak "won". The real loss was earlier, when Kodak was forced to cease production and required to buy back all the cameras.
