It's got that whole orthopanchromatic thing going for it, you know. Here's your chance to fill a void Ferrania. With a little product refinement and creative marketing, you can position it as a suitable (even desirable) replacement for Acros

(Maybe Italy is getting to me. Or maybe I've just had too much limomcello tonight. Buonanotte.)

What do Acros and P30 have in common other than they are black and white films?

Are their reciprocity characteristics similar?

From the specs, sound about as closely related as an elephant to an ostrich. Yeah, they both walk on legs and live in Africa. But other than that... Besides, Acros was made in multiple formats.

I would love to find out but every time I go to to their site, they are sold out.

You're probably right. It seemed like a better idea last night. Still, there's one less major black and white film on the market. There must be ways to take advantage. I'm also ready for 120.

Don't let these other guys rain on your parade. If you want YOU can make P30 whatever you wish to make it. Of course you can't make it a color film, but you can make it any black and white film you want. Have fun,
JohnW

John, no one is trying to rain on anyone's parade. The initial suggestion was to make P30 a direct replacement for Acros. It just can't be done in totality. Even if the spectral sensitivity is very similar and if one could get exposure and tonality nearly the same, the reciprocity differences are immense. Acros stood alone in that regard.

Oh, I agree totally! I'm really with everyone else here in that respect. All I was saying is that if bvy wants to make P30 his Acros replacement I'm not going to try and stop him. I'm sure he would find out on his own whether or not it could or couldn't be a the new Acros. JohnW

Right, agreed.
