Which starting point process would you recommend?

I’m done shopping. I’ve sold all of my high dollar gear and I’m down to my basic kit.

Nikon D700
Nikon F5
Nikon 105mm 2.8 D Macro
Nikon 50mm 1.8

For my “always have a camera with me” I have my Yashica Minister D rangefinder.

I did buy the Yashica 635, only because I wanted an option to shoot 6x6, and it’s my most beloved camera ever.

Other than that, the only other thing to purchase is the cyanotype chemicals, paper, and the materials to build my UV box.

I hope to be printing in the next month or two.

I'll recommend VDB as starting process, as well. It's cheap, fairly easy, fairly rewarding and mastering it will make upgrading to PT/PB very easy. Additionally you have the toning options that can improve the print stability. You can tone only the best prints and this way even the expensive toners become cheaper to use. With the Gold/Thiourea toner you get prints quite close to B&W.

If you can get such density range and smooth tonality out of VDB, who needs Pt-Pd?

I second that!!

I've been reading a little on VDB. Once I get a few rolls shot, and go through some of this cyanotype chemicals, I think I'd like to try VDB's. I think the examples you posted please me much more than CT's. I'm going to give toning the CT's a try though and see how I like them.
