sorry mate

that is the page i went to, your images are still boring

the interior shots are over lit flash images, on camera flash?

the outside images are poorly composed and boringly lit

none of the mono images displays any great understanding of the mediums potential

as for Ilford having a "too soft look" i've got to ask, do you know anything about contrast control

No way in Hell. Ilford just doesn't have "it". They have nothing to compare with Rodinal, and their paper is for sh*t.

Varycon Fotokemika paper or
Foma paper is the closest. Each has an Agfa equivalent, as suggested by Photoimpex and Freestyle.

If Ilford were my only choice, I'd have to give up photography altogether (after carefully using up my supply).

How sad. I have disliked Varycon actively for many years, ever since it was all I could afford. By now I'm beginning to realise its potential use in rare cases with otherwise hopeless negatives, but have a far higher success rate with Ilford Galerie. And FP4+, which I've always preferred. Developed in Ilfotec HC, and I'll never buy Rodinal again.
