Which enlarger do you print with

I have an Omega Super Chromega D5 with lens turret for anything bigger than MF 6x6. And for the "smaller stuff" I am using a Dunco II 67 Pro with a Heiland Splitgrade Moduel/Controller. For contacts I have set up a Dunco II 66 VC with standard settings

i would love to have a solar enlarger ( they used to make them in the 1800s i think? ). i think someone posted plans for one
a while back ( or an ad? ). i just leave my paper and film in the sun much simpler

I think I remember that Burke and James once made a good line of enlargers that they called "SOLAR" so I would not be surprised if someone in this group is still using a "SOLAR" to enlarge their negatives......Regards!

I think I remember that Burke and James once made a good line of enlargers that they called "SOLAR" so I would not be surprised if someone in this group is still using a "SOLAR" to enlarge their negatives......Regards!

At home: 2 Beseler 4x5. One with the standard condenser head, and the second with the 45s "color" head. Both are controlled through the same RHDesigns timer via a switching hub that I designed and built.

At the facility where I teach: 2 Beseler 4x5 and 8 23Cs. All with condenser heads.

I have in storage a Beseler 45mbx with color and condenser heads, 1 more 23CII with condenser head, 2 Omega B22's ( one xl ).
And most carriers for them.
I have been thinking about just going back to the B22 since I don't print color anymore and my darkroom has downsized to a spare bathroom now.
If I go back to the B22, I'll have to support the column to keep the vibration down and help support it. I do like printing large and the B22XL would ( I think) suffice.

This is somthing I have been wondering about and how well you like what you use.

Any response on this will be interesting to know.

I use a Durst L1200 or a Durst 805;both have the top of the column bracketed to the wall to minimize vibration and both work well by using their color heads for VC printing.

Leitz Focomat 1C with 50/2.8 Minolta Rokkor lens. ..

Most of my enlarging has been done with a 50 F/2.8 CE Rokkor on a Vivitar 356. Decades ago I used a 2in. TTH Ental II, but like an idiot, sold it with my first enlarger, a 35mm Rowi - when I thought I had a space problem.

Years ago before I got the D3 I had a 4X5 Solar, it was well made, just clumsy to use, did not have a crank, the head was heavy, had to loosen the tighting screw and move the head up and down. It did have a tension spring that helped. I had used Omega while in the AF so when I had the money got a used D3.

I also have an RHDesign timer that I would be interested in switching between two enkarger. Is it just a matter of switching the output?

I use a Kaiser VPM 7005 multigrade enlarger. This is a diffuser/condenser enlarger with dichroic filters. I only use 35mm and medium format and only print black and white. I can enlarge up to 6x7 medium format or 6x9 if I changed the condenser. I use a variety of Rodenstock and Schnieder lenses of different focal lengths for various formats.
