I was out with my Rolleicord TLR and for the first time I used the sports finder to frame my shot. I made the shot and winded up to the next frame and then realized that the lens cap was on the lenses, lol. So I removed the cap and made the shot.

My next screw-up will be my best....
Just half an hour ago, while processing a roll (HP5+, HC-110 sol.B, for the record), my Paterson tank opened midway developer bath... I feel to be the dumbest, clumsiest, idiot now. In my defense, I can say this is the first time I've done so.
That's why I never use the twiddle stick but do inversions...too risky for me....
We all know what xtol tastes like.. And when you taste it again, it's familiar.

I too did that recently. It reminded me of the advisability of checking that the lid is fully clicked into place before filling the tank with the pre-rinse water. It is a check I normally make out of habit, but that particular time I was trying something different and got distracted .....
Distractions are the bane of refined procedures.
D76 to be exact. Been working fine though- also caffenol made my fixer smell like coffee

I was loading some rolls of film the other night with my hands in the dark bag when I happened to glance to my left and what did I see? You guessed it, the lid! Lol. I then commenced about five minute contortionist routine to get the lid in the dark bag without exposing the film I already loaded. Fun fun fun!
I was loading the second reel of 120 Plus X and it slipped out of my hands and onto the floor. I spent over 5 minutes on my hands and knees trying to find the film. It hand bounced and ended up about 3 feet from where I started looking. I managed to get it on the reel and processed without any damaged.

Yeah, but I could have avoided my problem if I didn't use one of those!

Yesterday I was developing some big prints. I decided it would be easier to use one 20 x 24 tray rather than clear off the sinks to lay out 4 or 5 trays. Second print I develop, Kodak Indicator stop bath , and I'm fixing the print, I'm doing the Ilford method, so after 30 seconds or so in the fix I turn on a dim light. Why is my fixer purple???? It looks like exhausted stop bath. It was at this point I noticed a nice increase in the D max of the print and realized I was fixing with Kodak Rapid Selenium toner 1+3. I quickly switched to the rapid fix. I was shocked that it didn't stain the print. I totally ruined the toner and tossed the fixer. I reprinted a couple more prints, the session was saved. Lesson learned all Jobo bottles look alike under safelights.
Tried spooling a 135 format roll of Rollei RPX 100 onto a reel in a darkbag. It would bind and pop out of the guide rails every time. Even switching to different reels didn't help. So after 15 or so attempts I just rage quit.

I tried developing three different films one 120 and two 35mm at the same time in two separate tanks. Despite calculating all times, I managed to under develop a roll of Pan F+ shot 7 months earlier (image latency issues and underdevelopment are not a good combination). The two rolls of 35mm which were just short rolls I used for testing shutter issues on some old cameras came out well.
Developed a roll that should've been pushed two stops at normal speed. Usually my on-canister notes are good, but this time....

Last week and last night. Makes up one large mistake. Was on vacation last week and thought I had two rolls of Tri-X. One was actually TMax 100. Didn't set the ISO and left it on 400. Developed last night using the time for Tri-X @400. That means I handled it twice without noticing the label. Had the opportunity to partially fix my mistake with development but missed it.
Negatives are thin, but not terrible. Only figured it out because I was surprised how little grain there was which prompted me to look at the edge markings.

Velll, learning new film and its development. Tmax 400 in MF. So cut some roll film to try in baby speed film holder. It works, when inserted with a piece of sheet film behind it. But as you would guess its very curly from the roll, and one cannot take the dark slide out all the way, as it may get caught in the film. Here is an example of this issue, that we decided to get creative with.
After making a few camera adjustments I shot 2 short rolls, loaded them on metal reels in a dark bag and placed in tank. Mixed chemicals started timer ... and somehow removed entire top instead of small cap in center of top. Top roll completely fogged. Lower roll overexposed, but test images visible.
Took some flash shots using my Vitessa T and Mets 45. developed the film, non flash shots perfect, flash shots blank, forgot to switch from M to X
Most of my cameras are meterless. I shot a roll of ISO100 using an orange filter and, out of habit, set my meter for ASA32 to compensate for the filter factor.
...except I was using my SRT-202 and completely forgot I was metering TTL! Oops. At least I won’t have to worry about shadow detail.

Remember to remove lens cap from Holga pinhole wide before taking a photo...sigh.
When you turn off the water to your film washer make sure you turn off both hot and cold. LOL, just when I thought I had seen it all I failed to turn off the hot water completely. I left the film in the film washer while I prepped the photo flow bath and removed the previous batch of film from the drier. Needless to say the film was exposed to straight hot water for at least 5 minutes. The emulsion seem to have serviced without any serious effects, but regardless I certainly don’t want to replete this mistake.

I could quote your post word for word, except that it was Jobo and fix bath... spilled a lot of fixer on the kitchen table, our food will smell like fixer for a few days I guess
