I just read something this morning on FB. Kodak will introduce a small batch of new Ektachrome for field testing late in 2017. General availability will be in 2018.

Kodak Alaris have no facebook account. And at the Kodak account I do not see such statement.

So this isn't their Facebook page?

BUT at the Kodak Alaris website there is no link/hint to any Facebook account, and at the search on Facebook this page "Kodak Professional Solutions" shows up but is dead.

Still, I did not find a recent statement on Ektachrome availability on that account you linked too.
 
Kodak Alaris is quite active on FB under the Kodak professional name.
I contact ed them few days ago to check if they had any news about new Ektachrome, but they didn't come back to me
 
Alaris took Kodak for granted. Since the split Kodak maintained all the web info, Alaris really lost out by not archiving all the tech. manuals etc. It's too bad that Rochester screwed up so big that they lost the "Jewel in the Crown" Film and Paper.
Product info is still hard to find. If you don't know right where to look it can be hard to find.
I wonder if the two organizations will ever get together again?
I just hope there's room for Ektachrome, and Fujichrome.
 
I remember watching some video interview and one of the employees said, "we're excited to bring this back. There's a lot of work to be done to put processing back in place after all these years". I didn't get that. Kodak is processing my slide film in Japan NOW. They already have it in place. When I drop off a roll of slide film at Bic Camera or Yodobashi Camera in Tokyo they ask me if I want to send it to the Kodak or Fuji lab. Kodak is slightly cheaper. (700 yen vs 750 yen).
What are they talking about? Are they talking about processing Super8 cartridges of E6 film?

Kodak themselves are talking about super 8 film. Kodak Alaris is talking about 35mm slide film. Slide processing is getting a bit spotty. At least one lab told me that they could no longer mount my slides as the plastic mounts there machine takes are not available. I have a choice of 2 independant labs by mail order in Canada, and I guess I could still use Dwaynes. I have bought a Sealy Slide mount pliers monuter just as a backup system, along with a couple of thousand cardboard mounts.

Ferannia will have the same concern when they reach the slide film stage.

Eastman Kodak essentially abandoned the web based data repository to Kodak Alaris. They were the ones who were required to maintain it after the sale of the film and paper and photo-chemical business to them.
It was Kodak Alaris who took everything down, revised some of the documents, and re-posted those.
It is Kodak Alaris who recently added back a fair number of CIS documents and Z manuals.
They probably have all the historical documents, but either don't have the resources to maintain the availability of the ones that don't relate to current products, or have elected not to expend those resources.
There actually is a fair amount available through the Kodak Alaris site, but a lot of it is found through the menus that are there to serve photo-finishers.

I believe Eastman Kodak is talking about Super 8 movie film and processing. Kodak Alaris will be selling 35mm still film if all goes according to expectations. I know Kodak Alaris still produces C-41 and RA-4 chemistry in China. I don't know if Alaris still produces E-6 chemistry. I doubt it.
Eastman Kodak develops color negative cine film and make cine prints in their own labs around the world. I would imagine Eastman would do the Ektachrome movie film processing, (in house.)
Who knows if there will be an attempt at re-invigorating E-6 infrastructure around still film. I would guess things would be pretty much the same as today.
It sure would be nice if a "Real" Kodak processing option would be made available using mailers like the old days. Superb processing, nicely mounted with a date and frame number on each slide.
 
That Facebook post is a joke. Can Kodakers not express themselves precisely? Ektachrome what, please!
If it’s about Super-8 only, one should state it. Cave dwellers in Rochester?

Which Facebook post? Is it only visible to Facebook account holders?
If the post is from Eastman Kodak's account, it would be in reference to Super 8. If it is from Kodak Alaris's account, it would be in reference to 35mm.

converting yen to USD 6.33 for processing E6 IS CHEAP. It's 10 a roll at the only lab left in los angeles.
 
Firstcall photographic in the UK have it listed in their paper catalogue for first stocks arriving November or December at £8.99 for 35mm 36exp.

Kodak says Ektachrome "will be available in 2018". That gives them a 12 month window.
 
It was originally announced that it would be late in 2017!!!
