My latest old camera? I lost my head. A Mamiya 6. The viewfinder is just so bright and clear compared to the Fuji 645. My next old camera if you can call it that way since it's going to be an expensive repair, will be my grandpa's old Kardon civilian rangefinder. It's a screw mount Leica III clone, and it's been languishing in photographic limbo with a broken shutter/curtain for far too long.
For 35mm needs, my Minolta X700. For panoramic needs, the 6x12 Noon pinhole, though i've eyeing something with a lens for quite some time now but between a dedicated 6x12 or even 6x17, or a 4x5 field camera with the benefit of movements, and the disadvantage of weight...

Rolleiflex 2.8D Planar. It was CLA'd by local specialist and is in really really nice condition. Love it!

Hey Iakustov, I've got a 2.8D Flex w/ Xenotar! I think we've both got the sexiest model of them all; uncluttered nameplate, slim focus knob without meter and ect. but those adjustable hood magnifiers drove me crazy and so I taped those down. How do you like yours?

Picked up a Zorki 3 & 5 from Yuri at fedka.com. Love the 3, Barnack size with a combination vf/Rf, and I think one of the most beautiful cameras ever made.

I've known about the Kiev 88 since the 1980s or 90s, but have never had a chance to use one. Received this late-production 88 CM from Colorado eBayer "co840" who certainly took good care of it: It looks brand-new. I expected to spend a few hours re-cementing loose leatherette and cleaning away smudges of the purple factory contact cement, but this unit needed surprisingly little of that. I did polish the lens "beauty ring", but the part that I actually spent the most time on was the rubber lens hood which as received was covered In a greasy brown film, but it cleaned up nicely.

Beautiful!

The local antique market had this today, a well-preserved Spartus Co/Flash in the original box. Needs 127 film and M2 bulbs, so my actual use of this camera might be limited, but it seems to be in good working order. Like the 'Takes All 3!" notice on the box. The little BW-color slider appears to change the f-stop for some reason.

I agree! Was lucky to shoot both 2.8F and 2.8D before purchase, and the latter feels much better in the left had due to slim focus knob. Mine 2.8D also has a High-D screen and it is a pleasure to focus although I always use a magnifier.

I owned a 2.8D briefly back about 27 years ago. I was a camera dealer back then and it was inventory. That didn't stop me from using it quite a bit though. Mine had the Xenotar lens and, I dunno, when I look back at photos taken with that camera, there was a certain, almost daguerreotype quality to them that I haven't seen matched from any other camera I've owned. I've wished on many occasions I would have kept it.

Comparing the 2.8D with 3.5F (yes, I have a homemade cover over the meter when not in use).

Have always wanted one of these, so when I had a chance to grab this high serial number body in absolutely pristine condition - well, couldn't say no. Has to be the sexiest camera ever made (I need to get out more!)

I had one remaining EF lens so I decided to get an EOS body to go with it. I really really wanted an Elan IIe because I think it's a beautiful camera BUT for the same price I just couldn't say no to this one.

Ricoh Auto TLS EE. Given to me by a friend a while back, but ignored until recently.

Light meter is DOA, but mechanically it's a brick house. I'm looking forward to putting some film through it.

Congrats, and thanks for posting this. It caused me to check my F4's s/n. I googled the topic and found a site (http://www.nicovandijk.net/nikonf4.htm) that mentions F4 serial numbers. My F4's s/n is 2236xxx, so it was most likely made in 1992, fairly late in the F4's production run. Which is good news to me. Mine should still have a lot of life left to it. Hope yours does too!

Thanks for the link. Yes, mine starts 2569... So fairly late in the model run. Was looking at a 26... Body that was unused, but price difference almost made me choke. And I don't see any condition difference between that one and mine. Hoping it will eventually outlast Me!

Recaught a catch-and-release F body from a year or so ago. Chrome F that I bought for the finder back then. Dead self-timer, but shutter, film advance, etc works fine. Currently wears a Photomic Tn finder and my old F-36 drive that went with it when I traded it for an F "apollo".

How many Nikon F cameras do you have?

I got a nice Kodak Signet 35 from Goodwill. It seems to work, but I haven't developed the film yet. These were supposed to have been made from 1951 to 1958 according to Kodak Customer Service Pamphlet AA-13, but the date code on the lens is RY = 1950. Who services these things? After 66 years it probably needs a CLA.

It is a simple camera (for a rangefinder), any tech that can service a rangefinder, can service the Signet 35.
This is a camera that is on my "wanted" list for years!

I usually go months without finding anything good. In the past few weeks I have found too much. It started with a Craigslist ad for a Nikon EM with 50 f1.8 series E, an Olympus OM-1 with 50 f1.8, 50 f1.4, 100 f2.8, 28 f3.5 and a 75-150. All of that came with a Nikon FB-17 compartment case for $75. After that I bought a Pentax ME Super with 50 f1.4. The camera doesn't work, but I only wanted the lens. Last week I found an Olympus OM-10 with manual adapter and 50 f1.8 at a goodwill store for $15. The next day was a Pentax ME Super with 50 f2 for $10. Everything works great except the dial on the ME Super is hard to turn. I know to hold the little button down, but it is stiff. A few days ago I came across a Canon Serenar 28mm f3.5 in Leica M-mount and a Nikkor H-C 50mm f2. I sold the Serenar and the Nikkor and a couple of the Olympus lenses on ebay, but I am planning to keep everything else and shoot a lot of black and white soon. I was out today with the Om-1 loaded with arista 100. I am using the 50 1.4 and the 100 2.8. I really like the 100. It feels like a 50mm lens.

A better question for John might be how many Nikon F cameras has he "fostered".:whistling:

Yes, considering I usually have only one body at a time of a certain model. Currently, I have two F bodies. One that's about an inch to the left of my left arm as I'm typing this, and one that's on its way from New York, along with an F3P that needs help and a 50/1.8 AI Nikkor. Friend of mine had his meter coupling ring's string come loose on his F3P, so I traded him mine with a 50/2 Nikkor-HC pre-AI for his with a MF-14 data back, the 50/1.8 AI, and the 6939xxx serial F Photomic T. I probably will slap the Tn finder onto said body, once I have a decent round eyepiece eyelevel finder, then send said body up to BradleyK, so he can have a useable F for his arsenal.

A Super Speed Graphic. It arrived last Saturday, and came with a bag mag, barely used film pack adapter with box, loaded Kinematic holder, tripod adapter, flash cables, and an old stamped-steel Erector Set wrench/screwdriver (lol). The electronic release works (I had tested with five daisy-chained 9-volts). I think the shutter may be a bit slow at lower speeds, but expected that (and will worry about it later).

It's not camera-porn, but so far the only picture I took of it was testing the solenoid:
test-shutter.jpg

I'm in the testing phase - ran some FP4+ through last week (using a cable-release) and will develop tonight. Yesterday I received a 100-sheet box of HP5+ and two 22.5-volt Exell batteries.
