I'm another Selfiix 820 owner, nice choice alan. The Xpres on mine is excellent as is the Xpres on my Microcord it's slightly better than my Rolleiflex Automat's Opton Tessar and that's an excellent lens.

I went to my first camera market last Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed myself. Spent way less than I thought I would. Though it would not have been hard to spend more.

There are sixteen Kodak books in the set I got. So missing just four. Big bargain I did not walk away from was the Pentax K-1000 in excellent condition.

Best thing though was just talking to the sellers.

This is my newest new old camera. (Sorry, it's a crappy cell phone pic. I can't even say it's a smartphone pic, I have a dumb phone LOL.)

It's had the Mark Hansen spa treatment, and I just got it in the mail today. Thanks to this other APUG thread (there was a url link here which no longer exists) that told me of the existence of the Super Ricohflex cameras. Turns out Mark had one ready to go that he was willing to trade for the one I'd gotten off of ebay that the focus was unfortunately seized up on plus about what it would've cost me to have him fix mine. Turns out that the grease Ricoh used to lubricate the lenses turns into something like loctite when left sit for many years, and this is a common problem, but I didn't know that.

Now, I'm an E-6 guy, but have no way to project medium format slides. So this is loaded with Portra 400, and I have a roll of Delta 3200 and 2 rolls of Portra 800 on the way from B&H (How to get finer grain with high speed film? Shoot bigger film! )

Oh, and no fiddling with spooling 120 film onto 620 spools with this one either!

I have been lucky over the last few months finding cameras and lenses. The oldest of my most recent cameras is a Yashica D that looks like new. I currently have a roll of tri-x in it. I received a lot of comments on the camera when I took it out a week ago. I used a Gossen Pilot 2 meter to set exposure.

Yeah, I was just shooting pictures inside my house, so I used my 35mm SLR as a meter. It happens to be loaded with ISO 200 film, so I just went with a shutter speed a couple stops faster than what the meter said, figuring the latitude of the Portra 400 in the Ricohflex would take care of the lack of light...

a cyclone 3 ( 4x5 ) falling plate camera.
shutter is a bit sticky, not hard to remove the face plate, and
remove the 100+ year old lint that built up on the shutter ...
has 12 septums and a blank. the one i have and use only has 8 septums
so it was well worth the price of admission only had to wait 15 years to find another.
there are TONS of #5's ( bought on of them10 years ago to see if the septums were
interchangeable ( they aren't ! ) it does have a few extra features and apertures though "upscale!" )
and TONS of #2's which are 3x4, not 4x5 ... can't wait to stick a few more plates in my 8-shooter

Good Heavens.....they damn near look new.
I have never, actually, seen an AV-1.....what is the Red Light (by the shutter button) on the top plate for.?

The red light means the film advance is charged The AV-1 needs new seals but that is only a minor fix.

The Pentax K-1000 is ready to go.

Really looking forward to the next one. Will no doubt spend more!

I thought it was the self-timer indicator.

Is Pentax the only 35mm SLR manufacturer who used a simple red/white indicator in a small window to indicate the shutter was cocked / film has been advanced?

EDIT: my Exa 500 uses a red flag in the viewfinder - nice!

I am actually wrong, I re-read my manual. It is the self timer lamp.

Not sure but it is a very handy feature. I only have two Pentax cameras. I had decided not to buy any. Silly me.

Today I found back my very first camera! Such a thrill!
Even if it's just a Pentax 303, a basic point and shoot (but hey, I was 6 when i got it)
Actually it's thanks to this one that i was able to start photography with film (as i'm under 30)
It's not worth the Canon Ftb i'm currently using but i might shot a roll with it in the coming week just for the nostalgia

Scored from the thrift store last night: Konica autoreflex T4 with like new Konica ar 50/1.4 and tamron 80-210 f3.8-4 macro adaptall + flash and pseudo leather bag. Along with that, a like new canon rebel 2000 with 28-80 kit lens. El cheapo but super small and light, going to be my backpacking/trash it kit and a lightweight option to use my L lenses on.

Finally got my first Nikon F4, it's one of the few models I always liked but never tried, having had two F5's in the past I always assumed they were 'better' than the F4. In some ways I see they are perhaps not, loving this thing and it plays so nicely with my Ais lenses with full matrix metering! Loving the tank like build and the AF isn't too bad when using short fast primes. I am not really that much into AF cameras to be honest but this is a good camera for manual shooting that also happens to do AF if I need it. Came to me in pretty decent condition ata good price with the largest battery pack (MB 23 ) to be an F4E and also the less common MB20 smaller grip for reducing size and weight. Loving that it does what my F5's did but without all the menus, just good old fashioned knobs on top. All features work perfectly and there's no LCD bleeding on the displays at all. Somewhat strangely, here in Bangkok, repairmen won't accept F5's but WILL repair older F4's. I think it's a keeper.

I can see why Frank, this is already really becoming addictive with the older manual glass. Seems to have large viewfinder coverage (100%?) and the focusing confirmation is lovely with my 105mm 2.5 Ais. Shaping up to be a real portrait rig par excellence. By the way, had a quick look at your site, love the old Honda and many ,many of your photos too.
