That sure is a very interesting camera. How is it working?

I haven't used it yet, but I did give it a CLA and think it will be good.

Yest that is correct, it's a 1985 T-80, a forgotten camera...with some reasons as it's quite limited in its functions and its system consists of just three lenses.



Correct, I think already made an AF lens for the F-1N but this was the first with AF confirmation in the camera itself. Probably it would have more successfull if it had more standard Av e Tv modes besides the five programs that were thought for beginners.

There was indeed a 35-70 f4 AF lens made for FD cameras, I just recently sold one. They are cumbersome and quite goofy looking but it was kind of cool in a weird way and I got it cheap.

Me neither. I wonder if it takes 6x9 (2 1/4 x 3 1/4") sheet film or that I have to cut it into 6x6 format?
I'll measure it when it arrives.

How is the meter on that one? Mine is still sensitive to light, even low light, but I made a covering for it. I only uncover it for brief periods when making photos.

I'm assuming that by reducing its exposure to light, the selenium meter will last longer. I could be totally wrong.

It is responsive, but I have not yet checked it for accuracy. I don't think that light causes failure, excessive exposure to moisture will kill them dead, though.

Thanks! I've seen too many amazing images from this camera to not be filled with that familiar burning desire. Once I finally decided to pull the trigger, I waited and perused for as long as I could manage (read: about three days) until I found what I considered a pretty good deal. Really can't wait to take it for a spin tonight.

I picked up a Nikon F3HP the other day. I don't really need another Nikon, but the price was right. I hope to test it tomorrow with the pre-AI lenses for my F. If all goes well, it can be my backup while the F goes into the shop for CLA. I still have a perfectly functional FM I have never even put film in, so this was completely a compulsive acquisition.

Beautiful piece of kit ! I have the AIs - version of the 28mm f/2.8 - one of the best Nikkors I ever used.
Does this FM come with the unlocking ring around the shutter button ?

Looks like it does. So, it can be fired without the meter being turned on and without using a pen to fire it with the motor drive linkage button on the baseplate.

Yeah...I bought an F2 before i bought my FM, and i was kind of shocked. I still am.
I have a hard time believing that a group of camera designers could "sit at a table", discuss a new camera, and decide that the shutter lock on the FM was a good idea.
I would think Nikon must have gotten complaints, but maybe i am wrong.?
It is bad for a few reasons, not just because it sticks you in the face.
I am not a photo journalist, and i do not do Action Photography, so i can always take my time and deal with the lever, but i can imagine it was a pain for people in a hurry, or in a Crowd/Tight Space(s).
