Found a Canon EOS 630 on Ebay for $26 shipped. It has the GR-20 grip that has the remote socket-that grip is hard to find. The EOS lens I want to get is not cheap, so for now I ordered a EOS body-Nikon lens adapter.
I got a Praktica BX20S, the last reflex designed in the DDR...I bought it for 30 quid including a nice blue case, a "Cobra" flash (supposedly TTL) and the usual Prakticar 50mm f1.8, it wasn't meant to be in working condition but with my great surprise with a new battery it appears to be fine.
The only thing that worries me is the "clank" of the advance lever and the end of the stroke, it sounds like I'm braking down the gear. Pics soon.
My newest purchase is a Nikon F-801s, replacing the F-801 whose af motor is making me cringe. That screeching sound is terrible, the AF performance, too.
My BX20S behaves the same way, so I guess it's "normal". Though compared with the more fluid handling B-types it's a rather unpleasant surprise which I don't like at all.
one of my coworkers was selling off what his late uncle had -
I picked up a Canon FT QL and the Crown Graphic.

both were in good working order, just very dusty, it took a while to clean them up. no fungus in any of the glass.

I passed on Canon FT with 50mm 1.4 lens yesterday. Finally over coming gas, I quess. J
Thanks Bill!
It is a very nice EOS.
I had one (EOS 600, the same as yours in the rest of the world markets) some 13 years ago.
Never got used to the way it does the manual metering by having to press a button.
Otherwise it is a nice camera with a fast motordrive.
Beautiful Nikkormats Ricardo!
My EOS 630 got here today. I went to the local camera store and picked up the new 50 1.8 STM. The lens has 7 rounded aperture blades that maintains a fairly circular shape to about f/4. The EOS body-Nikon lens adapter got here too. I like the way it looks with the Nikkor 85 1.8 on it-half Canon and half NikonI was lucky enough to find one with the optional grip with the remote socket on it-that grip is hard to find and pricey.
