A Yashica "kit" from craigslist, this morning. $50. Everything seems to work.

I suppose.. I will now have to look for the holy grail of screw mount lenses
the 75-230mm zoom that came with it seems nice.

Wow! A TL-Electro-X !!!

The service manual is out there on the web. You can calibrate the photometer by the potentiometers under the bottom plate, no need to remove the top.

But for further adjustment you need to reposition the variable resistor underneath the shutter speed dial. For this you need to remove the camera top and for this you need to remove the shutter speed dial. To do the latter, you need to remove carefully the disc (with the shutter speed figures) on top of the dial. It is glued.

Nice camera, i've always wanted one.

NOTE: That "Duracell" battery on your pic is very old. Test the voltage first before thinking your camera is dead

Also, somebody on the 'web mentioned that battery drain is smaller if you store the camera at the top (1/1000) speed.

As far as the holy grail of M42 lenses...they don't really come much better than that DX 50/1.4 lens that is on the camera. I am sure that you can find more expensive lenses, though.

Hi,
Interesting cameras, best of luck with all of them. I recently purchased a black Bronica S2A (late version) and a 75mm f2.8 Nikkor H.C., I owned one of these back in 1977 and missed it. For now I'm sticking to B&W film because I still have my darkroom and can enjoy it to it's fullest that way.

some ebay bodys/cameras are $10 or $15 lol.
Impluse...
but the filters are nice.

I desire a nice Autofocus film Canon, eos 3 or 1-something, have the lenses.

Some lovely old 35mm gear - a Yashica J and a Petri Penta. Best of all, I now have 2 Kuribayashi Orikkor 50mm f2 lenses. I am amazed at their sharpness and bokeh - true gems from another era. I also just received another classic, in mint condition: a Pentax Super-Multi-Coated Takumar 300 f4 to go with my trusty old S1a.

A$70 impulse buy arrived today. A second package containing the telephoto lens is due tomorrow.

Came with bag, Speedlite 277T flash, cleaning equipment and user manuals. Seller even loaded a fresh Fuji Superia X-tra 400 36 exp film for me.

Would anyone have a user manual for a Tamron SP 28-80mm F/3.5-4.2 (model 27A) and might be able to scan it for me please?

I finally found me a nice Kodak Retina set on a local auction site. It should arrive in the mail next week. I heard great things about these compact cameras, so I'm looking forward to shoot my first roll with it. I'm not sure if this is the best model in the Retina range of models, but I'll enjoy it anyway.

It's a Kodak Retina II (type 011) from ca. 1948 (serial # 253015). It has a coated Schneider Xenon lens 50mm f2 (# 2071203) and a Compur Rapid shutter. It's offered as technical perfect.The shutter and rangefinder are in good working order and the lens is clean. It's cosmetically in good condition too (see photos) with only some light corrosion on the edges.
It comes with a Kodalux light meter (# K20226) in the original leather case. the selenium meter is still working and checked with a Gossen Lunasix.

Focus is with the bottom dial? If so, that's probably better than the IIa - I can't intuitively find the focus knob on my IIa, so that's somewhat annoying. Also, with a knob film advance, yours might not be prone to the very common failure of the IIa's frame counter (assuming the design is different).

I've not been impressed with the IIIc or IIIC.

It's one that I've owned in the past. And that Fred (flatulent1) has also owned. Made the mistake of dropping by Kenmore Camera on my way home from the wrecking yards today. Noticed an F4s body on the bottom shelf. Had them pull it out. Noticed the serial number. Thought to myself, "Hmmm, that looks familiar..." Sure enough, it was that late model F4 I'd owned as an F4E in 2011. Still with the rare F4 "K" screen installed (seems the more desirable P screen is actually easier to find). The good thing, is that between the time Fred and I owned it and now, the illuminator LEDs for the LCD panels work. They didn't before.

Sorry, I don't have a manual, but I do own the same lens. It is a very good performer. Are you familiar with adaptall-2.com? It's a great resource for adaptall Tamrons. Here's their page on the SP 28-80. It has the MP resolution tests which are always useful.

Picked up a box of Minolta gear today

An X-700 with power winder, an X-370 missing the battery cap, an XD-11 with a broken power winder. SRT201 works perfectly except the shutter speed readout thing has come loose in the viewfinder and is floating around. Also a Maxxum 3xi with lens. MD mount lenses are a 50 1.7 with sticky aperture, JCPenny 135mm 2.8, Rokkor 45mm f2, RMC Tamrom 24mm 2.8, Vivitar 28-70 macro with 2x matched multiplier, and a Tamron Adaptall 2 lens. Also a Tamron zoom, Vivitar zoom, and Kiron zoom, but the aperture blades are so sticky that they won't stop down at all.

I think I'm going to keep the XD-11 and the SRT201, along with the Tamron 24mm and the JCPenny 135mm, and sell the rest.

Purchased from Stephen Gandy recently:

38mm f/4.5 lens + 6x6 format! Maybe I should call my "Superwide-L". It fits (just) into my jacket pocket and is so lightweight as to be no real hardship to carry around in that manner. It may wind up being one of my more-frequent users simply because it is so handy.

Yes. The Adaptall-2 mount for Canon has the button to put the lens into its auto setting so you can use your AE-1 in shutter priority.
