Congrats on your new camera Jon. Looks like it is top notch condition. It will be very interesting to see what you can do with this piece of vintage gear. How much did this bad boy cost?

Thanks Tom! I got it for a song. Whole kit for $300. I knew it would need a CLA however the lens was clean with zero marks as well as nice conditioned body. I am tempted to go back and buy the photograph of the original owner (US serviceman stationed post WWII overseas in Germany) with this camera around his neck. The guy I bought it from inherited it from his father in law and was selling the whole estate from his antique store. Apparently the first owner of the camera was quite the ladies man as many of the photos of him had various attractive young women in them with their arms around him

A kodak Retina IIIC (big C) meter works, but shutter is stuck open. I can see the shutter leafs have oil on them. Hopefully, a CLA will bring it to working condition. It's got a wonderful lens on it. Winding is smooth so I'm hoping the toothed winding rack is not damaged.

A couple thoughts:

- the black Nikkormat FT3 looks great

- Canon did a nice job with the aperture blades on the 50/1.8 STM; the EOS630 was a good buy

Thanks!
The Nikkormat FT3 only has a small dent on the back, otherwise it is as if it was a new camera. Even the seals are in very good condition.
And the meter is just great, no twitch as it became the norm with these meters.

The EOS600/630 is a good camera. Fast motordrive of 5FPS, the first Canon amateur SLR with custom functions and a fast auto-focus. The USM lenses were also introduced at about the same time.

A member of my Club came in last Friday and said " I have an old camera for you " and produced a Plastic Bag inside was a very dusty SIGMA SA-300 film camera with a SIGMA ZOOM 28-200mm f3.8-5.6 --when I looked through the viewfinder everything looked 'Orange' !! On better inspection having cleaned it up I found the 'orange' was INSIDE the Pentap-- maybe tobacco smoke but there was no 'smell'. The LENS had some dust inside but good otherwise. I found a 2CR5 Battery and it all works. There was NO Lens cap so i will have to find a large one.

A really mint Yashica 635 complete with its 135 kit and its original leather carrying bag. It might not bethe greatest TLR of all there, but I just love it.

Got my Pentacon F version of the Contax F today (that is the version exported to the West). It is like a cross between a Contaflex and a Spotmatic with no meter. Heavy with a clunky action but all works well - test film is loaded but carer duties have prevented me from actually using it yet, saving that for tomorrow.

This is the version with large knobs.

Well, since this thread does not seem to be limited to 35mm cameras, a Rolleiflex 2.8C, a Rolleicord IV, and a Rolleicord Vb.

$50 at auction, very minty and works like a charm (with the unsurprising exception of the light meter)! This is my first MF camera and my first all-mechanical camera.

Well they're still in the mail, but I've recently ordered:

Nikon F100
(in an attempt to be able to leverage my lens collection I have for my digital Nikon)

Polaroid Land Automatic 250
(after giving up (for now) on Impossible Project or badly expired 600 sized instant film)

Bilora Bella 44
(Because my grandparents old Ansco Cadet II had bad light leaks, and for some bizarre reason I want to take some more 127 film pics. Also it looks cool)

I have a distinct feeling the Bella will have exactly 2 rolls put through it (the 2 127 rolls I just ordered), and then will spend the rest of its days on a shelf looking pretty.

That's an art deco masterpiece; I'd use it all the time.

Received a Nikon FM2N earlier this week. I've wanted one for a long time. It's much smaller and lighter than my F3 HP, but I already miss the high eye point finder.

Always wanted one.

Won myself a Minolta xk with viewfinder off ebay for a bit over $130.

Always wanted an XK but they were very expensive new. I do have a Maxxum 9000, and a 9xi, these are well built cameras. Minolta always reserved the number 9 for their top end cameras.

Nikkormat FTn early.
It is a low serial number. One thing I learned was that the FT and the early FTn didn't have the "Leica bell" thread around the shutter button.

For some reason, I have been seeing too many Nikkormats with the prism bashed. Uhmm, I wonder if they were used in a war zone...
